I have a few friends at IIT Guwahati, so I think I can give you some idea about the faculty base and placement there.

Faculty:

The institute has an all Ph.D. faculty base. Most of them are graduates from premier institutes in India. Some of them even have completed their PhDs from reputed foreign institutes. The faculty there also encourages students of the B.Tech departments to participate in numerous research works.

Placements:
