NIT Surathkal is a 1.5 tier Engineering College. However, there is not much scope for Chemical Engineering in India.

  • You will not find many Chemical Engineering companies in India. Neither top engineering colleges of India give skilled Chemical Engineers.
  • Engineering College students mostly go for computer engineering where they can earn up to 50 LPA according to their skills.
  • As most of the top companies required candidates to have a work profile, and not depend on their academic records while selecting.
  • Most of the students also opt for MBA and become managers, where they can earn up to 15 LPA.
  • These industries and companies see candidates' academic record of their college.

Therefore, if you are only applying and looking for placement in chemical engineering then you should not go for the course.
