How are the NIT Surathkal MTech CSE placements?

NITK offers good placement opportunities for M.Tech CSE. The placement average for the branch is around 60-70%. According to the recent statistics, NIT Surtahkal MTech CSE placements had an average CTC of INR 7-8 LPA. Almost all companies that visit the campus drive offer placements to MTech students.

During the initial days of the placement drive, it’s difficult to get placement for M.Tech students. There is heavy competition from B.Tech students. But if you have good coding skills or any other pointers that make your profile stand out then you can bag a good job.

MTech Placement is really good. Maximum placements are made from CSE Department, be it BTech or MTech, but BTech students are preferred because they can work at a lower salary as compared to MTech. If you have studied and performed well through the entire course, then you are definitely going to grab an outstanding placement.

A friend of mine from the CSE Background got an offer from Texas Instruments which was paying around 14 lakhs per annum back in 2013.

Almost all companies look for highly skilled MTech students for recruitment during the Campus Placement process. Around 20-30% of the batch at NITK gets placed in big companies, remaining 60-70% of students settle for average companies like Wipro.

So, MTech placement at NITK is pretty better than other NITs except for NIT Trichy and NIT Rourkela.
