Should I join IET DAVV Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering?
IET DAVV offers a good Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering program. Almost 90% of the students from the branch get placed through the campus drive. Salary packages offered are in the range of INR 3.5 LPA to INR 8 LPA. The core companies visiting are less in number. But many IT companies recruit through the campus drive, such as VMware, Cognizant, Wipro, etc.
If you are planning on preparing for GATE, it is a good option. The syllabus is easy. IET also doesn’t have strict attendance rules. So, you will get ample time for preparation.

In today’s scenario, not many core companies of E&TC come to the campus for recruitments. Some of the top recruiters that come to the campus are Infosys, MUSigma, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, TCS. They offer an average package of 4 lacs and a maximum package of 8 lacs. Most of the people get placed into consultancy firms such as TCS, Infosys.
IET DAVV students perform well in the GATE exams. One of the students from the EC branch got AIR 2 in 2013. In recent years also students have performed quite well in GATE. The future scope of the EC branch is moderate. The mechanical department has a better scope. After Mechanical, EC is the best. In IET, you won’t get a core job in this branch.
