According to the recent highlights of IEM, Kolkata placements, the average CTC for EE is around INR 5-6 LPA. In recent placements, the highest CTC received by the student of Electrical Engineering is INR 12 LPA. The placement rate for the branch is around 80-90%. Students get recruited in core job profiles as well as IT job profiles. TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, etc. are among the major recruiters to take part in the placement drive.

At IEM, every year about 80% to 90% of students from EE get placed in the IT sector. Some of the top companies visited by IEM are mentioned below.

Mass Recruiter: TCS, Infosys, Wipro Concentrix, Cognizant, etc.

Core Recruiter: Blue Star, Johnson, Microsoft, Amazon, etc.

More than 60 companies come for campus placements every year. TCS is one of the mass recruiters in EE.

A few core-companies also visit IEM, but the recruitment rate by these companies is low. You’ll be taught how to clear GATE instead of getting placements.

The average placement for Electrical Engineering ranges between 3.6 to 4.2 lacs per annum. The highest package offered to an EE student is 6.2 lacs per annum. If you want to secure a higher salary package, you have to go off-campus.

Overall, IEM offers a decent placement to its students. So, take admission in IEM, you will definitely get placed.
