How are the hostel and other amenities in the IIT BHU for M.Tech students?

The M.Tech entrants are given the best hostel on campus viz. Aryabhatta Hostel. It is the most recently constructed boys’ hostel and is a three-story building divided into 4 blocks namely A, B, C, and D. The hostel has a common room with a TV and it is also the largest common hall amongst all the hostels. There are 3 operational messes here and one of them is for the M.Tech students only. Block A, B, and partly C is allotted to the new entrants of B.Tech and the rest of it is filled with the M.Tech students. Let’s look at the amenities in detail:

• Two-seater rooms.
• 24/7 Wi-Fi facility and 2 LAN ports per room.
• Amazing garden spaces in the middle of each block of the hostel.
• Washrooms are cleaned twice per day.
• Washrooms have handwashes and geyser facilities are available irrespective of the season.
• There are 3 canteens in the hostel which operate from around 3 in the evening to 4 the next morning.
• Two water purifying coolers in each block and on each floor.
• There are two cots, two tables, two chairs, and two cupboards and two tube lights in each room.
• All the major festivals are celebrated in the hostel. There’s also flag hoisting on Independence Day and Republic Day in the hostel.
• The students can participate in all the Gymkhana activities and the cultural club activities of the college.
• Each student can avail of the medical facilities at the Health Centre upon the production of the IIT ID card.
• One’s allowed to keep coolers and heaters for the room as Banaras experiences an extreme climate in all the seasons.
• There’s a provision of Dhobis but no availability of Washing Machines in this hostel.
