How good is KJ Somaiya (SIMSR) for doing part time MBA?

Some of my friends studied at KJ Somaiya. According to them it is a good institution that provides degrees to postgraduate students of diploma programs like financial services, healthcare, international business. It also provides degrees in programs of human resource development and management (part-time) and financial management (part time).

Here are some facts that you should know about the college - 

• The institute does not award PGDM degrees anymore and it hasn’t changed its courses to MBA degree programs. 
• KJ Somaiya is under the aegis of Somaiya Vidyavihar University and is an integral part of it. 
• It is an autonomous status granted by UGC and offers full time, part time and executive programs in Business Management along with MCA and doctoral programs. 
• Apart from MBA KJ Somaiya has launched MBA (Human Resource) and MBA (Sports Management). 
• KJ Somaiya plans to offer MBA-DSA (Data Science and Analytics)

Purpose of part time MBA: -

• This would make the students professional.
• To build a strong foundation in the fields of management.
• Apart from theory holistic education, discipline and social responsibility is considered equally important.
• Specialization areas and its competitions.

The program is divided into 3 years or 6 semesters. Each semester lasts approximately 24 week. In the 1st year of Management the entire subject is taught in general. The specialization is in the 2nd year. In the 3rd year specialization and elective both are offered to the students. The eligibility criteria are work experience of 2 years after graduation from a recognizable institute.
