My brother recently graduated from Thapar University, so I can give you some insight into this.
Management quota in Thapar is illegal since the whole admission process is transparent and counseling takes place online. There are two ways of getting admitted at Thapar University. First, by clearing the cut-off for JEE and class 12 marks. Second, if there remains any vacant seat, you can appear for the December test conducted by the university.
However, Thapar does have a 12% reservation for the students of the faculty, which is often misunderstood as management quota.
There are also other reservations, such as the 50% reservation for the students of Punjab, reservations for the students of J&K and NRIs.
