NIRMA University having larger diversity among all four is a little behind in technical courses.

Comparing TISS with renowned B-schools such as - XLRI (Jamshedpur), IIM (Shillong) will show that it is at par with them. TISS is one of the premier institutes in the Social sciences department. TISS, as a research institute is well equipped. The graduation degree is of standard quality as well, it will be worth your time and money.
At TISS, HR is not amongst the highlighted courses. It is Social Work and other public policy and development related courses that are at the forefront. HR, as a course, is parallel to the management side of the education TISS has included it in the course list. Apart from HR, TISS also has another management program which is the Social Entrepreneurship course.
Now, let’s sum up the plus points of TISS, as the best-selected option:
NAAC Accreditation |
'A' (It has been rated as the best university for Social Sciences in India) |
Faculty |
Best HR faculty in India; Extremely helpful and encouraging professors. |
Placement Percentage (2020) |
80-90% |
Highest CTC |
INR 32LPA. (Its recruitment standards are equal to XLRI PMIR) |
Average CTC |
20.60 LPA |
Recruiting Companies |
KPMG, Urban Management Centre, Amazon, CitiBank, etc. |
Best courses |
HR; MPH; MHA |
TISS, when it comes to HR, is definitely a more suitable option than IIM Shillong. However, a comparison cannot be set between the two colleges, in totality. Both of these educational institutes have different specialization courses. Therefore, a common leveling ground is absent.
These are the stand-out features of TISS but a comparison with the IIMs is not justified, as they both deal with different subject matters at different levels.
A friend of mine recommended me CIT as it is the oldest and a government-aided research institute. CIT was started much earlier than SSN. Needless to say, the institute has much more facilities to offer you as it is the most trusted.
Here are some basic information about the three institutes:
Category |
SSN Chennai |
CIT |
VIT |
Placement Companies |
Amazon, Facebook, L&T, Google, Hyundai |
Amazon, Infosys, L&T, Toshiba, Renault Nissan |
Microsoft, Udaan, PayPal, Amazon |
Average CTC |
6 LPA |
4.99 LPA |
6 LPA |
Highest CTC |
61 LPA |
33.05 LPA |
44 LPA |
Fees |
INR 1 Lakh |
INR 1,03,000 |
INR 57,000 (First Year) |
If you ask about computer science, SSN and CIT are on the same page. Both the institutes are equally great. If compared on the basis of the CS department, VIT is lagging behind as compared to SSN and CIT.
CIT and SSN are more affordable as compared to VIT as it is a deemed University.
SSN has the best infrastructure among the three universities.
In order to encourage research, SSN offers an amount of twenty-five thousand rupees as part of internally funded projects. You can collaborate with top institutes like Anna University or IIT for projects.
Though the faculty and quality of teaching at VIT lags behind, it is not the case in CIT and SSN. Both the institutes have a very strong faculty being top institutes.
Though the oldest and the most affordable institute among the three is CIT, if your budget allows, you must go for SSN. It is also located in a metropolitan city. You can keep VIT as a backup option due to issues like affordability, comparatively poor faculty, and lack of enough research facilities.
Comparing Jadavpur University and NIT Durgapur is illogical and the same as comparing oranges and apples. Both the colleges have their unique strengths and weaknesses. Consider the following points becoming making the decision
So if you are ready to stay outside the campus and have no interest in the NIT tag then choose Jadavpur but if you want a NIT degree then choose NIT Durgapur.
OP Jindal and Ashoka University both offer decent bachelor's programs in Economics. But the syllabus and education approach of the programs are quite different.
Overall, OP Jindal will be a better option for pursuing a UG degree in Economics.
For a BSc in Geography, Jadavpur University is a better option compared to Presiency Unversity Kolkata. JU has a great geography faculty and an active research culture. You will get the required support and resources needed to pursue any research project you are interested in. JU will offer better career opportunities in this field.
