Should I take CS at CCET Chandigarh or electrical at PEC?

KS
Khushi Singhal Posted On : June 30th, 2021
Electronics and Communication Engineering at Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology

Based on the review that I received from my friends at these two institutes I will say PEC is better. But if you have an interest in CSE then go for CCET.

Placements - CCET:

  • The placement rate here is 80 to 90 percent.
  • The average package offered here is up to 6 lakhs.

Placements - PEC(electrical):

  • The placement rate is 93 percent.
  • The average package offered up to 10 lakhs per annum (2020 placements).
  • Alston, Goldman Sachs, EXL services, and others were among the major companies that hire from the electrical industry.

In terms of reputation, infrastructure, art, and culture, PEC is superior.

Should I choose BVP or MAIT?

RR
Roshni Roy Posted On : July 7th, 2021
Studied at Delhi University (2019)

Both colleges are very good in their own terms but choosing MAIT will be a better option. As one of my friends studied there. Here's what he has to say about the institute.

  • The campus of BVP is smaller than MAIT. It is very beautiful and has much better facilities than BVP.
  • There is enough space and places to explore in BVP to relax and hang out with friends.
  • The food available here is not good in quality and the prices are also very high.
  • The placement opportunities available at MAIT are much better than that of BVP.
  • The rules are also very strict at BVP but in MAIT the rules are lenient.
  • MAIT is also ranked higher than BVP among the IPU colleges in India.
  • The faculty of these colleges are talented and well experienced.

So, after going through the above factors, it will be better to choose MAIT as your college as it provides better facilities and placements to its students.

Should I opt for civil engineering at NIT Raipur or CSE at LNCT Bhopal?

AM
Arpit Mukherjee Posted On : May 2nd, 2023
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Raipur

If you are wondering whether to choose Civil Engineering at NIT Raipur or CSE at LNCT Bhopal, here are some reasons why you should consider NIT Raipur:

  • The NIT tag: NIT Raipur is a highly prestigious college and holds a lot of weightage in the industry. Having the NIT tag can give you an edge over other colleges.
  • Campus opportunities: Even though you may want to pursue CSE for better placement opportunities, NIT Raipur offers ample campus opportunities despite being a Civil Engineering student. Moreover, you can also learn coding and other CSE subjects on your own and still be eligible for IT companies. Companies don't ask for your branch; they look for your knowledge and skills.
  • Average package: While LNCT Bhopal may have good placements for CSE and IT branches, the average package is likely to be around 3.5 to 4 LPA. In contrast, at NIT Raipur, irrespective of your branch, the average package is around 6 to 7 LPA.
  • Other activities: NIT Raipur offers better opportunities for sports and other activities than LNCT Bhopal.
  • Environment: The environment at NIT Raipur is more competitive and conducive to learning and growth than at LNCT Bhopal.

Therefore, it would be a wise decision to choose Civil Engineering at NIT Raipur over CSE at LNCT Bhopal.

Which should I take for engineering - physics at DTU or electronics and communication at IIIT Una?

TD
Tarun Kumar Dhillon Posted On : July 13th, 2021
Studied at Amity University Noida (2019)

Both of the colleges have their own specialties. It depends on your purpose for doing any of the mentioned courses. One of my friends graduated from DTU and he mentioned a few points about the same which may be helpful for you-

  • If your focus is on taking a decent job after graduation or earning money, opt for other options than physics.
  • But if you have your interest in the field of research in physics or you want to do your higher studies in the field of physics, then go for Engineering in Physics.
  • My friend from the physics branch in DTU straight away mentioned that the physics department in DTU doesn’t have decent placement opportunities, be it the on-campus placement or off-campus placement.
  • ECE being a practical-oriented subject has a lot of demand in the industry.
  • Also after graduating with ECE, you can sit for placements of both core companies and IT firms. Thus there will be a lot of job opportunities.
  • Half of the students who have enrolled themselves on the physics branch were misled and the other half was too sure and passionate about this branch.
  • Whereas, ECE at IIIT UNA can provide you with a good job right after you graduate.
Categories Engineering Physics at DTU ECE at IIIT Una
Course Fee 7.81 lakh 8.16 lakh
Highest CTC 15-16 LPA 16 LPA
Average CTC 8-9 LPA 8 LPA
Recruiting Companies Optum, Tech Mahindra, TCS, IBM, etc. Google, Microsoft, Accenture, Capgemini, etc.

Hence, it is up to you what is your purpose behind taking a course, if it’s research, go for engineering physics and if it’s about taking a decent job in the field of Electronics, then go for IIIT Una.

What should be my decision to join if I have 2 opportunities, VIT Chennai ECE or Amrita Bangalore CSE groups?

AM
Aparna Madhusudan Posted On : July 19th, 2021
Studied at Vellore Institute of Technology

ECE and CSE are two different departments, providing separate career opportunities. VIT Chennai and Amrita University Bangalore offer decent placement to students in these departments.

The points below give a brief overview of both the choices:

  • In CSE, there are excellent package offers in institutes like Amrita and VIT, thus increasing your chance of getting a good salary at the beginning of your career.
  • ECE is a stream of a kind, which has its own charm. In ECE, students grow slowly with time and earn decent salaries, provided they are passionate about the field of work.
  • ECE in VIT Chennai is a great department, having a world-class infrastructure. The curriculum is at par with the industry needs. The professors at VIT Chennai are connected to the industry and other academic institutes to aid in research.
  • All major electronics companies visit the campus of VIT Chennai for placement. Almost 20% of the students in the department get a package above 10 LPA in general from companies like Samsung, TI, Nutanix, etc.
  • A major percentage of about 70-80% of students in ECE at VIT Chennai get a package between 5-8 LPA. Companies like Cisco, Intel, Wipro VLSI, Arista Networks offer salaries in this range. There are also some non-tech companies like Deloitte, E&Y, Bank of America, PWC, Wells Fargo, etc that recruit students from ECE.
  • In VIT Chennai, there are very few students who opt for job offers in service-based companies like TCS, Accenture, Infosys, CTS, etc.

Therefore, both ECE at VIT Chennai and CSE at Amrita Bangalore are good options. It is the choice of the student as to what excites him/her the most and opts for a degree in the same.

Which MBA is better, INSEAD or ISB Hyderabad?

Amanda Marie Jacob Posted On : June 3rd, 2023

My personal choice would be INSEAD if you’re getting the main Campus ( Europe). Let’s start comparing the two with the most important factor i.e. ROI.

The academic fee for PGP offered at ISB is starting from Rs. 38 L -41 L annually based on the accommodation. Whereas INSEAD has a fee of 88-90 L. But the career opportunities that are offered at INSEAD are limitless. The potential for growth and the range of career advancement available there is vast.

Comparing these two colleges would not be an easy task because we have to keep the details in mind. INSEAD would always have the location advantage over ISB no matter how good ISB is. Once you graduate from INSEAD, you’ll be ahead of the game for at least three years with a career boost.

If we talk about the placements, the kind of companies that visit the two colleges are similar to a great extent but the profiles and project opportunities you’d be working on after graduating from a top Global college are beyond comparison.

Which is relatively better for marketing, TAPMI or BIM Trichy?

AB
Aditi Banerjee Posted On : April 18th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

If you want certain features like high-quality infrastructure, a diverse student body, or a wonderful location, BIM may not be the best choice.

However, BIM is a good choice if you want to learn management in its purest form, study with famous professors, have a high return on investment, experience southern Indian culture, enjoy a variety of extracurricular events & an active nightlife, and have great job opportunities, including at McKinsey, Asian Paints, and E&Y. BIM as a business school is great, but it may not suit everyone.
