Both IMT Ghaziabad and GIM Goa are highly reputable institutes for post-graduation in marketing. Both institutes have a strong track record of producing high-quality graduates who are well-equipped to excel in the marketing field. However, when considering which program to pursue, there are several factors to take into account such as the quality of students passing out of these colleges, placement opportunities and profiles that interest you, and your academic scores.
It is recommended to research and speak with students from both institutes, as well as professionals in the field, to gain a better understanding of the curriculum, faculty, and alumni network of each institute. Additionally, if you have poor academic scores, it might be a good idea to consider a program with fewer students, to increase your chances of success. Furthermore, if you have more work experience, it would be a good idea to look into IMT Ghaziabad as it offers various opportunities for students with more experience.
IMT Ghaziabad is considered to be a tier above GIM Goa in terms of ranking, brand perception, placements, and opportunities. It is ranked in the same tier as the new IIMs, SIBM, NMIMS, XIMB, SCMHRD, and MICA. Additionally, IMT Ghaziabad is known for having a strong focus on marketing as its forte. On the other hand, GIM Goa falls in the category of institutes such as KJ, Fore, BIM, etc. It is important to do your research well and make an informed decision based on your career aspirations and goals.
I have some friends at IIEST Shibpur and NIT Rourkela and based on what I heard from them, I will suggest that you choose the former. Here is why.
Here are the recent placement statistics at the institutes.
Institute |
NIT Rourkela |
IIEST Shibpur |
Highest CTC |
42 LPA |
39 LPA |
Lowest CTC |
3.5 LPA |
2.53 LPA |
Major recruiters |
IBM, Samsung, L&T |
Microsoft IDC, Aditya Birla Group |
Go for IIEST, only if you are interested in doing research further, you can make some good contact there which will be helpful. But from a placement point of view, NIT R will be better for a CSE course.
One of my cousins, being a part of the institute, mentions that NIT Agartala has been amongst the list of most underrated technical institutes all over India. Since it is unfavorably situated in the North East side, which is commonly not the best hub for technical industries.
Categories |
CS at NIT Agartala |
CS at NIT Mizoram |
Course Fee |
6.31 lakh |
5.43 lakh |
Highest CTC |
14 LPA |
17 LPA |
Average CTC |
7 LPA |
6 LPA |
Recruiting Companies |
Havells, Tech Mahindra, Vedanta, Capgemini, etc. |
IBM, Intellect Design, Infosys, Amdocs, etc. |
However, if you drop down to choosing between either of the former institutes, then going for NIT Agartala will unarguably be better than the latter.
Hope this helps answer your query, wish you all the best!
PES University as well as VTU offers undergraduate, graduate as well as doctorate courses. However, PES University offers a wider selection of subjects to choose from ranging from law, business administration, design, etc. On the other hand, VTU offers engineering courses along with MBA, MCA, and Architecture. Some of the main aspects of comparison between the two institutes are mentioned below.
Admission:
BTech, MBA, MCA are some of the popular programs offered at both universities. Besides these courses, the two institutes also offer plenty of other degree programs in various disciplines.
For BTech, PES University and VIT accept KCET and KMAT scores respectively. The first-year course fee for BTech at PES and VIT is INR 3.3 lakhs and INR 7,720 respectively.
For MBA PES University accepts PESSAT scores. Whereas VIT accepts CAT/MAT scores. The course fee for MBA at PES and VIT is INR 4.5 lakhs and INR 7,920 respectively.

Placements:

PES Alumni work in a plethora of fields with a record placement rate of almost 100%.
Some of the popular companies recruiting students from the institute include Mahindra Rise, Linkedin, Bosch, JP Morgan among others.
In 2019, about 851 offers were made with most students at the institute having a median salary of INR 6.8 lakhs per annum.
The highest package offered is INR 48 lakhs per annum.
VTU:
The institute has established a placement center where training and development are carried out to ensure maximum placement opportunities.
Cognizant, BYJU’s, IBM, Amazon, AIS are some of the companies visiting the college for placements.

Campus facilities:
PES University:
With a sprawling 25 acre campus, students have access to the latest computing and research facilities. Moreover, the library at the institute has over 1 lakh documents including E-books, E-journals, books, etc.
VTU:
All laboratories at the institute are well furnished and with modern technologies. The library at the college is a source of information, research as well as books that students may require.
Lastly, another major difference is that VTU is a state university whereas PES University is private. For deciding between the two, students can consider the points mentioned above.
If you are a coding enthusiast, you should prefer IT at IIIT Allahabad. It has an excellent IT syllabus. You will have a fair knowledge about OOP, DSA at the end of the first year. Students of IIIT Allahabad actively participate in competitive coding from the first year. The institute also has a good placement record. According to IIIT Allahabad placement highlights of recent years, the highest and average CTC offered were INR 21.85 LPA and INR 61.65 LPA. Major industry giants such as Google, Amazon, Flipkart, IBM, etc. take part in the placement drive.
Among all the options you have mentioned, the one which you should actually consider is ECE in IIIT Allahabad for a duration of 5 years.
The closing rank of IIIT Allahabad is better than ECE at NIT Allahabad and IT at IIIT Allahabad. ECE is best pursued at MNNIT Allahabad rather than IIIT Allahabad. But then I should also mention that IT is better for IIIT Allahabad than anywhere else. That's a fact.
If you have a knack for coding and it holds your concern, the environment that is accurate for a coding culture can be provided by IIIT Allahabad.
Therefore, if coding and IT are your forte, a 5-year IT course at IIIT Allahabad is the one for you. The faculty there are experienced and carry specializations that guide you through your way.
Look at the bigger picture which holds your future and then go for an aim. Choose such a specialization that ensures security to your future as well.
But then, if you eventually want to settle on ECE, MNNIT is the right place.
In comparison to BITS Hyderabad’s EEE, NIT Calicut’s CSE, the latter would be considered a better option. However, it is entirely up to you whether you want to pursue IT jobs or electrical hardware jobs.
Tabulated difference between NIT Calicut CSE or BITS Hyderabad EEE are:
Categories | CSE from NIT Calicut | EEE from BITS Hyderabad |
Total course fee | 5.42 lakhs | 19.9 lakhs |
Top recruiters | ABB, Amadeus, Amdocs, Ashok Leyland, Bajaj Auto, Capgemini | Adobe, Amazon, Axis Bank , Capgemini, CGI Information Systems and Management Consultants, Cisco System |
Highest salary package | 36 LPA | 45 LPA |
Average Salary Package | 15 LPA | 12 LPA |
As I am not much familiar with BITS Hyderabad, I am not able to share details about the college. I had some of my friends graduating from NIT Calicut so I was able to share these details. Therefore, I believe CSE from NIT Calicut is the better option. You can interact with ex-students of BITS Hyderabad to get a proper overview of the college.
Before choosing a college, you should consider things like - Infrastructure, fee structure, faculty profile, placements, coding culture, the branch of interest, extracurricular activities, distance from home, etc.
All these colleges are affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. AIT, now known as AIACTR, is a government college while MAIT and BVP are private colleges.
If we compare only private colleges, then the preference order will be as the following.
Here is a comparison between government colleges and private colleges:
Based on what I heard from my friend I will say the preference order should be - MAIT>BVP>AIT.
One of my cousins is a student at IIIT Vadodara. I hope I will be able to help you with this doubt.
BVM is an old college whereas IIIT Vadodara is very new to its comparison. What my cousin says is, if he had a choice between BVM and IIIT Vadodara, he would have definitely chosen BVM over IIIT Vadodara.
IIIT Vadodara provides you with very few resources. There is no permanent campus and it lacks hostel facilities. It would not be surprising to see that it still lacks these two basic infrastructures even after ten years from now.
My cousin, who is in his fourth year of graduation, regrets joining IIIT Vadodara. Although the tag of an IIITian may help you in getting a better placement than BVM.
If you are getting an opportunity to opt for BVM, go for it. It is a well-established college and you will get ample resources to utilize for your growth.
