If in ABV-IIITM, not every one is coding, then what are other people doing and targeting for?
One of my friends who was a student of AB IIITM has described his journey throughout the course. Following are the points highlighted below.
- In the 1st year, very few students have an idea of what is to be done. Students pursuing IT mostly have no prior knowledge of the stream and no one guided them throughout.
- Students usually spent most of their useful time playing games like CS, watching movies, casual group discussions, etc.
- After the 1st year, most students don’t attend classes with the perception that classes are of no use, and good marks can be easily achieved.
- The actual impact starts in the 3rd year. Serious, hard-working candidates go for internships. Seeing them, average students either start coding and the others start preparation for government jobs (those who think coding is not their cup of tea).
- There is a problem among students that they underestimate themselves in the beginning. Some of them set their target towards only selective companies like TCS, Infosys, etc, which have an easy process of selection. This is a big mistake, in which students assume that companies like Microsoft and Samsung are meant only for a specific set of students. Eventually, students having such an assumption don’t work hard and prepare only for certain companies selectively.
- Some of these students, having such wrong perceptions fail to achieve their goal due to this lack of proper guidance and understanding.
Preparing for two years is enough for you to get a decent job, and no difficult coding skill is mandatory. Preparation can be taken in any domain. At the same time, enjoying college life is extremely important because it is generally the end of the glorious student life, and is to be missed afterward. So, do not set your goal low, and try to enjoy your college years.
What documents are required to take admission at AIIMS Raipur for an MBBS in the first round of counseling?

Should I opt for CSE in IIT Gandhinagar?
IIT Gandhinagar started its B.Tech CSE in 2016. Even though the program is relatively new, it is a great choice. The CSE department started way back, in the year 2009. The Ph.D. program in CSE has been running for a long time and plenty of research work is taking place in this field. You will receive all the required research facilities and necessary guidance from the institution. Minors in CSE has always been quite popular among the IIT Gandhinagar B.Tech students.
IIT Gandhinagar sees excellent placements in coding profiles. For 2023 placements, the B.Tech CSE branch recorded 94.4% placement, with a median salary of INR 25.06 LPA and an average salary of INR 29.29 LPA.
I strongly recommend IIT Gandhinagar for your B.Tech CSE and would suggest you make the best use of the opportunities that this institution offers.
Which should I join IIT Kharagpur aerospace engineering or IISC?
While the Aerospace department of IIT Kharagpur is indeed well developed, IISc is still the best option for Aerospace in India. It has multiple collaborations with reputed Aircraft Manufacturing companies like Boeing and Airbus offering you the necessary exposure that might not be possible at IIT KGP. You can get an insight into the working of these companies and learn things quickly.
You can even apply to the foreign branches of these companies and get a good job. IISc is well known for its enthusiastic research-oriented approach and learned faculty that will help you grow as a person.
Being a knowledgeable person does necessarily mean you have to secure full marks. Knowing the right set of skills and implementing them is a must to be one of the top students.
That being said, to achieve great things you cannot expect your journey to be a cakewalk. The workload at IISc is indeed much more than IIT Kharagpur. You will face continuous challenges as you stay in the dynamic research environment which will eventually become a thrilling experience. Going for IISc will definitely guarantee you a good career ahead.
What are some specializations in IBS Hyderabad?
IBS Hyderabad offers specialization in a variety of subjects. During the second year, i.e., 3rd and 4th semesters, you are required to choose 8 electives or subjects of your choice depending on your area of interest along with some compulsory electives. The electives are from a variety of specializations including
- Finance
- Marketing
- Operations
- HR
You are at complete freedom to choose any combination of electives up to 8. One can choose Finance with Marketing or Operations with HR or even all Finance electives. However at IBS, a major at Operations is rare as very few companies in this sector visit the campus. You get to choose 5 electives in the 3rd semester whereas 3 electives in the 4th semester.
One major point to note is that irrespective of whatever electives you choose, IBS Hyderabad offers a General MBA Degree only. Even if you have chosen all Finance electives, you get a general MBA degree and not MBA-Finance.
Why are Delhi School of Economics and other better ROI colleges like JBIMS and many more for an MBA not as popular as FMS?
Here are some of the reasons that should be mentioned:
- DSE MBA was founded in 1986, whereas FMS was founded in 1954.
- An older institute has more alumni to leverage for placements and thus more alumni to build credibility in the institute branding.
- Until 2015, DSE offered a "Master" degree in HR/OD and IB, titled Master of Organization Development and Human Resources and Master of International Business. Two things stand out: i) HR/OD and IB are niche areas to enter in comparison to an MBA-Fin and MBA-Marketing. ii) A MHROD/MIB has lower popularity than an MBA.
- FMS has significantly more industry exposure than DSE, owing primarily to alumni/family of alumni/friends of alumni.
- Quality of Faculty: Though both FMS and DSE are run by DU, what DU lacks in academic-focused faculty is more than made up for in FMS, which has regular mandatory industry guest lecturers.
- The higher cut-off in FMS (relative to DSE) year after year ensures (though is not guaranteed) a certain quality benchmark of students coming in, leading to increased competition and peer learning. Something DSE could think about.
Which good engineering colleges are affiliated to Anna University?
Anna University has more than 550 colleges affiliated to it. Many well established colleges have turned autonomous while some remain affiliated. The major difference between the two is that an autonomous college has its own syllabus but graduation certificate is still given by AU. But affiliated colleges follow the syllabus prescribed by the university. So you should aim for an autonomous college rather than an affiliated one.

Is AKTU a deemed university or not?
No, AKTU is not a deemed university.
Abdul Kalam Technical University is a public collegiate university in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. It is an affiliating university with approximately 800 colleges affiliated with it.
All the programs offered by the university such as MTech, Ph.D., and Dsc are AICTE approved.
With around 645 marks in this year's NEET, can I expect a seat in KGMU, Lucknow with UP state quota (UR)?
During 2019, the cutoff for general category through UP state quota was 637 marks for KGMU. Based on this data, there is a possibility of your admission into this college.
However, the cutoff varies each year, depending on the participating students and the paper level. If things don’t work out, you can go for mop-up round. In it, with 645 marks, there is a good chance that you’ll get KGMU. Otherwise, you can look for other UP colleges like RML, GSVM, GIMS, etc. These are worth considering too.
What are the class timings in IMT Ghaziabad?
IMT Ghaziabad class timing varies for weeks, sections, programs, semesters , and years. The institute does not have a fixed timetable for each semester. You will receive the timetable for the forthcoming semester via email. Every section follows a different timetable. The classes during the first year usually begin around 9 in the morning. The duration of classes is 75 minutes followed by a 15 min break. Many times there are consecutive classes of the same subject.
