The coding culture of the Heritage Institute of Kolkata is different for different departments. All the departments have different cultures be it CSE, ECE. These departments have a good lab environment available. They have a fun coding culture without stress and deadlines. They don't force a student to learn fast and they focus on concepts rather than deadlines. But it's valid for only the above-mentioned department.
The coding culture for other departments is not so great. They will teach you more about IT world culture than coding. So, choose your branch/department wisely.
Thapar University has recently started the CSE branch so not much cannot be said about it. Although its cutoffs are higher than COE, I don’t think a new branch can take over a well-established branch like COE this easily.
The Dera Bassi campus is located in a village and the proximity to the industry makes the living conditions pathetic for students. Moreover, the faculty is said to be average qualified and there aren't any practical lab sessions.
So, I will recommend you go for any lower branch at the main Thapar Campus than going for CSE in the Dera Bassi campus.
For the IPM course of IIM Indore, there is a particular IPM paper that takes place for admission. The format of the paper has changed over the past 3 years. CAT and the IPM exam conducted by the IIM Indore are both different. The format of the IPM paper is as follows:
Although both CAT and IPM exams are different, the format of both of them is the same. Some short answer-type questions are not MCQ type and are slightly different. Although the maths section is higher than the other section in the exam due to the short answer-type questions, the difficulty level would not be much. The cut-off for Quantitative Ability of the IPM exam is nearly 25-30%, therefore you need to go through a lot of Advanced Mathematics and should practice the CAT level mathematics well. According to the marking scheme, Each correct answer is +4 in the exam, and for the wrong answer, there is -1. This negative marking scheme is not applicable for the short answer questions.
The Management of Karunya University changes the dress code for girls frequently. It depends on their mood. Some days kurti and leggings are allowed while some days they are scolded for wearing tight leggings. They won’t even let you sit for class with such clothes.
Girls are expected to wear a Salwar Kameez or Churidar with a dupatta pinned at the shoulders. They also have to wear the university blazer on special occasions. They also have to wear a lab uniform in the laboratory classes and wear their ID cards all the time.
Hope this helps you!
It is definitely ‘worth’ preparing for the IIFT. But for a confused mind, it is better to first gain work experience which will strengthen your resolve.
But maybe you specifically want to emphasize the ‘fresher’ part of your query. Then I would say that if you want to pursue an MBA, definitely prepare for IIFT. It is a very subjective choice. People who find fulfillment in their jobs need not go for an MBA, but if one feels that MBA is the right option for us, be it a fresher or an experienced person, preparing for IIFT is worth it.

As an alumnus of MANIT Bhopal, I will try to shed some light on the Electrical department of my college-
Overall, Electrical Engineering is a decent option, and you’ll enjoy your stay at MANIT Bhopal.
My brother was a student at IIIT Allahabad so I have enough information on how the students spend their free time and their daily timetables. In IIIT Allahabad, classes are conducted form and the weekends are holidays. Most students spend their weekends playing badminton in the hostel, cricket, football, snooker, table tennis in SAC, or swimming. A few game lovers spend their time playing PUBG, mini militia, and counter-strike games in their rooms.
A few coding lovers spend their weekends doing coding. There is a free bus facility at 6 pm so some students go to the market to shop or hang out with their friends in restaurants. Some students play music and dance with friends in hostel rooms, while some watch movies. Many roam around the campus and enjoy the fresh air.
