Which is a good university, VIT or Amity University, Noida for computer engineering?
You need to attempt TS ICET to get admission to Osmania University’s MBA course. TS ICET MBA cutoff score for 2022 is expected to be around 17845.
If you are able to clear the cutoff, you can get OU through counseling. Other than your ICET rank, your gender, and caste will also influence your eligibility.
Which/why is best for CSE: IIIT Una or NIT Uttarakhand?
One of my friends is currently enrolled for the 2022 batch at IIIT UNA. He has completed two years already with a rank below 30,000 and he got into CSE, if you have a rank between 30-36k then you won't have many other options available.
He had the option to choose between Thapar Institute of Technology, IIIT UNA, and UIET Chandigarh, and unfortunately, the choice of IIIT UNA was a regrettable decision. Firstly it does not have a good rank; secondly, you may see why as follows-
- NIT Hamirpur is the mentor institute at which my friend’s batch studies as part of the 2022 batch which is the only batch there without any seniors, labs, or societies.
- Administration-The institute lacks efficient management, it is headed by a dictatorial administrator who likes to make changes without prior announcement. Recently, a fine of INR 5000/subject was imposed on students for a shortage of attendance.
- Tuition Fees- For each year of the academic program, you'd have to deposit a high Tuition Fee of INR 2.05 LPA, which is steep because of the lack of facilities.
- College Environment- If you're seeking a happening campus life at IIIT UNA, then you'd be disappointed. There are hardly 2 or 3 clubs like Aavesh and Force, but joining them will be difficult owing to their eligibility criteria.
Lastly, I'd like to highlight the placement scenario as the placement cell clearly states that they are not responsible for the placement provision. Only CSE and IT departments receive some companies, for ECE there are only coding jobs available.
So, Thapar Institute of Technology and UIET Chandigarh are much better in terms of opportunities provided, college life, and alumni support.
Is placement of dual degree BTech+MTech(IT) any less than that of BTech IT students at IIIT Allahabad?
There are several sorts of dilemmas regarding the placement of dual degree B.Tech+ M.Tech students in IIIT Allahabad. Here is what I gathered from my friends at the institute.
- For dual degree students, there are enough placement opportunities in IIIT Allahabad. There are a few companies that prefer dual degree students over B. Tech graduates too, as per their own needs.
- Considering the placement strategies of some companies, they consider the dual degree students as overqualified candidates, and so prefer the B.Tech students over them. This is not the case with every company visiting the campus.
- In recent times, the IIIT Allahabad placement committee is trying hard by making formal discussions with companies to allow the dual degree students to participate in internship interviews too, mostly during their intermediate semesters. This will ease the fact of partiality to some extent.
Therefore, considering the factors stated above, it is clear that dual degree students do face problems in some companies’ recruitment drives. But, they do have a good amount of placement overall.
Which IIT is best for CSE, IIT Patna or IIT Dhanbad?
While many may find it confusing to compare IIT Patna and IIT Dhanbad, I recommend you go for IIT Patna without any second thoughts. Here are a few points that justify my opinion
- IIT Patna was a fully established IIT in 2008 while ISM Dhanmad became an IIT recently in 2015. IIT Patna has contributed to the job market and research world largely despite being new.
- IIT Patna CSE is a well-established department that records 100% placements every year. The department has a highly learned faculty pool.
- IIT Patna's curriculum is in with that of top universities like Harvard, IISc, and IIT Bombay.
- IIT Patna has strong relations with foremost industry leaders and top universities
My friends from IIT Dhanbad themselves often claim their institute to be inferior to IIT Patna.
What would be better among HBTI, IET LKO or newer IIITs like Lucknow, Sri City Kota, and all?
IIIT Lucknow is the best option among these. It is a central university and offers good infrastructure and facilities to students. The faculties of the institute are alumni of IITs, NITs, and reputed institutes abroad. IIIT Lucknow has an active coding culture. The institute offers decent placement opportunities to students. Each year around 100% of students get placed through campus drive. During IIIT Lucknow placements 2022, the average and median CTC offered were INR 25.86 LPA and INR 23.39 LPA.
Which university is better to do a B.Tech CSE, Chitkara University HP, Chandigarh University or Northcap University, Gurugram?
One of my friends studied at Chandigarh University (CU). According to him, CSE at CU is really good compared to other colleges of its level.
CSE here is mainly popular for its placements. More than 100 companies participate in their placement program.

They also have experienced faculty and management policies. They have also improved their hostel facilities and campus environment. All in all CU is a really good option for pursuing CSE.
Which is better, mechanical engineering in IIT Hyderabad or engineering physics at IIT Roorkee?
It is difficult to determine which is better; Mechanical Engineering in IIT Hyderabad or Engineering Physics at IIT Roorkee without knowing what your expectations from the degree are and your personal preferences. Nevertheless, I am here to spill a few facts about EP at IIT Roorkee.
- Engineering Physics at IIT Roorkee is a multidisciplinary branch, with courses from Physics, Electrical, Electronics, Mathematics, and Chemistry departments.
- The courses included in the curriculum are quite demanding and can be really challenging for those who have little interest in Science
- Engineering Physics provided no core placements after completion of the BTech degree.
- Those who have an interest in a specific field of Physics can pursue research as it has great scope.
- You can also work as a scientist in DRDO or ISRO.
- You can also opt for fields like Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, or Quantitative Finance where people with majors in CSE, Applied Maths, and Physics are preferred.
- Software Engineering roles are also available for EP students although it is challenging to manage the academics along with programming.
I would recommend you go for an easier branch that has less workload so that you can focus well on coding and get placed right after BTech in IIT.
I want to change my branch from mechanical to CS within the same college and university (RGPV). What should I do?
Firstly contact your college’s Administration department. The college usually conducts counselling for change of branch right after first year examinations. This is decided on the basis of your marks in the first year.
Your principal or the Admission in charge will help you throughout the entire process.
How is the electrical engineering branch at Heritage Institute of Technology?
Heritage Institute of Technology is a good private institute if you want to pursue electrical engineering. The placements at Heritage are also good and there is no shortage of candidates looking for admission.

The students in the department of CSE get placed the most followed by the students of IT. The students ECE and EE come after them. Placements however are determined by your hard work and dedication.

I scored 359 in BITS this year and have a Mains rank just above 4k.Should I opt for IIIT Allahabad IT or BITS hyd/Goa CSE?
You should choose BITS Hyderabad/Goa. BITS Goa CSE is considered to be on the same level as the Pilani campus. The Hyderabad campus has made some radical improvements over the last few years, as well. Due to the presence of Hyderabad IT hub, the placement and career opportunities available are ample.
BITS offers a lot of freedom to students. Their no-attendance rule and the flexible course structure allow students to explore and take different courses according to their interests. You can leverage these benefits to shape your career, the way you want.
BITS placements are comparable to old IITs. Almost all major recruiting companies that visit IITs, visit BITS as well.
