The student fraternity of ISB is very different from that of FMS and IIM Lucknow. ISB requires a minimum of 2 years and an average of 4 years of work experience for admission. Whereas IIM Lucknow and FMS focus more on academics and almost 40% of the batch comprises freshers. Others have 2 or fewer years of experience.
My answer is divided into 3 parts
If you have work experience of 2 or fewer years:
In this case, you should give up on ISB and totally focus on FMS or IIM Lucknow. Personally, I would suggest you go for IIM Lucknow because of its brand image. Despite the fact that FMS offers high ROI, you can never underestimate the value of an IIM tag.
If you have work experience of 2-3 years:
This is the toughest decision as you can nearly go for ISB but will be risking a lot including its extravagant fees. But you won’t regret choosing ISB because of its peers, faculty, research orientation, and campus life. It is also the place where all the big consulting firms come for placements. So if you value reputed firms a lot then go for ISB.
If you have above 3 years of experience:
Close your eyes and without thinking choose ISB.
The question is highly illogical as no branches are comparable, rather it’s a matter of preferences. You can say that placements of CSE are better than ECE but to say that to the entire branch would be making a false claim.
In any engineering institute you will find the average packages of the CSE branch higher than other branches but does this mean the other branches are not as good? The answer is no. The placements are directly affected by the demand in industry and it has nothing to do with the credibility of the branch. If you are genuinely interested in ECE, then CSE won’t be a good choice for you irrespective of how lucrative the package you are offered. So it’s a subjective matter.
People tend to adopt the sheep mentality and flock to CSE just because everyone is doing so and fail to analyze their own passions and interests. The increasing size of packages and international offers has resulted in a preconceived notion that CSE is better. In reality, both ECE and CSE branches are equally good with equally good opportunities, faculties, and education.
So it’s advisable to make the decision without any preconceived notions.
Comparing colleges can be done based on several factors. To many a few
So, the ultimate decision depends on your personal preferences!
NIT Allahabad is a better choice than NIT Jamshedpur, especially for CSE. If you are not getting CSE, try going for IT because the branches are somewhat similar. Moreover, NIT Allahabad has options for internal sliding too so you can try your luck there. Chances of sliding to CSE are rare so you can try going for IT instead.
Also, If you are considering joining a core branch, except CSE, IT, and ECE, remember that you will have to appear for GATE in the last year to get a job in PSUs.

If you're trying to decide between pursuing a Master of Science in Mathematics at BITS Hyderabad and a Computer Science Engineering degree at Vasavi College of Engineering, here's some information that may help you make an informed decision.
If finances are not a major concern, it may be a good idea to choose BITS Hyderabad's MSc Mathematics program over Vasavi's CSE program. The reason for this is that in the second year of the MSc Mathematics program, you will be allocated a BE degree. If you have a good CGPA in your first year of the MSc program, you may be allocated a good B.E. degree, such as in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) or any circuit branch.
This is significant because a B.E. degree from BITS Hyderabad is highly regarded and could provide a good return on investment in terms of career opportunities and earning potential. Additionally, BITS Hyderabad has a reputation for providing quality education and exposure to industry-relevant skills and knowledge.
It's important to note that while a good CGPA can increase your chances of getting a desirable B.E. degree at BITS Hyderabad, there is no guarantee. Additionally, pursuing an MSc in Mathematics and a subsequent B.E. degree may require more effort and time commitment than pursuing only a CSE degree at Vasavi College of Engineering.
Ultimately, the decision between BITS Hyderabad's MSc Mathematics program and Vasavi's CSE program depends on your personal preferences, career goals, and financial situation. It's recommended that you research and compare the programs, their admission requirements, course curriculum, faculty, and placement records before making a decision.
Both the colleges are really good and come with their own tags. In one, you will have the NITian tag and the other will give you a BITS tag. In the end, you will have to make a choice between the branch and which one you like more.
If you are interested in coding and electronics, ECE will be a good fit for you. If you are good with fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and like hands-on work with machines, mechanical is another really good option.
With ECE, you will probably end up working in core firms that are IT-based. You should figure out what kind of life you are looking for and what field you want to study.
It’s better to pursue a BTech in BIT Mesra than at Thapar University owing to a number of reasons
Ultimately, the decision is yours to make!
It all actually depends on your interest. As both of these options are completely different and two different areas of interest. You must choose what you find interesting. There would not be any conflict between these two institutes over the placement stats as both of them will give good placements to their students. Here are the recent placement highlights of the institutes.
Parameters | NITIE | IISc |
Average CTC | 20 LPA | 10 LPA |
Highest CTC | 43 LPA | 40 LPA |
Major recruiters | ETLI, EY, IDFC First | HP, Dell, Intel |
If you are interested in tough work that is more challenging or research and development-oriented, you should choose IISc. As in the world of Nanoscience, IISc is the country’s most renowned institution. And if you are more inclined towards managerial work, then it would be better to go to NITIE.
IIT Guwahati is one of the top engineering institutions in India and has a well-established ECE program with a strong focus on research. The institution has state-of-the-art facilities and offers many opportunities for collaboration and networking with other leading institutions in India and around the world.
Both NIT Surathkal and IIT Guwahati are excellent choices for pursuing an MTech program in ECE. You should consider your personal preferences, career goals, and research interests when making a decision between the two. It's also recommended to visit the campuses, speak to current students and alumni, and explore the curriculum and research opportunities to make an informed decision.
However, when considering the choice between IIT Guwahati and NIT Surathkal for MTech programs in ECE, it is important to note that while both institutions offer excellent programs, the brand and reputation of IITs are highly valued by companies. Therefore, the tag of IIT may carry more weight in the eyes of potential employers.
According to some of the reviews online, LNCT is regarded as one of Bhopal's top colleges, but Banasthali is Asia's finest institute.
Categories | B.Tech at Banasthali University |
Course Fee | 4.01 lakh |
Highest CTC | 12-20 LPA |
Average CTC | 4-6 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Cisco, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, etc. |
I would simply advise you to take your time and determine which branch you want to pursue before proceeding and then making any decision. LNTC’s performance is something I am not familiar with.
