New Delhi: The first-of-its-kind Diversathon initiative from the Avtar group was won by the XLRI School of Management, Jamshedpur, with the SIES School of Business Studies, SIES College of Management, Mumbai, and KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai finishing as runners-up.

Business colleges and other professional organisations are essential to the drive for inclusive workplaces. Being inclusive is essential for the success of any organisation since the leaders of tomorrow are the people who study in professional institutions and B-schools. Avtar Group created a groundbreaking competition called Diversathon in an effort to uplift, spark, and celebrate this spirit.
Teams from the following institutions took part in the paper presentation: BIMTECH, Noida; Gitam Business School, Hyderabad; KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai; SIES School of Business Studies and SIES College of Management, Mumbai; TISS, Hyderabad; and XLRI School of Management, Jamshedpur. The main obstacles men and women confront in Indian culture, problems with inclusion experienced by male and female students on campuses, and various policies that should be put into place on campuses and in society at large were some of the subjects covered in the papers.
A (virtual) Solutioning Hackathon called Diversathon was held as part of Diversity Mahotsav, a series of events organised by Avtar to honour the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. These events were spread out throughout the month of December. The theme of the event was "Towards Big Impact: Creating Inclusive Campuses in India." Diversathon saw teams from educational institutions offer their original ideas as answers to inclusion concerns in the nation, while the sessions had enormous learning potential due to the open exchange of thought leaders and role models.
"The goal of Diversathon was to educate kids who are potential change agents of tomorrow on the subject of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion," said Dr. Saundarya Rajesh, Founder and President of Avtar Group.
The students are prepared to take strategic and tactical action when they are managers in India Inc.'s corridors since they developed great answers to some very important inclusion concerns. Diversathon featured students from all throughout the nation who passionately expressed their opinions. We found it challenging to determine the victors because each team gave it their all. During the event, there was a lot of knowledge exchange that produced some interesting discussion topics. I'd want to thank everyone who took part in making this event a huge success. The participants are aspiring professionals, and we are pleased to have begun the DEI journey with them. We are optimistic that they will lead inclusive change for a better future in the upcoming years.
