XLRI Jamshedpur Hosts First of its Kind Startup Conclave, Attended by Over 450 Students


New Delhi: XLRI Jamshedpur’s first Startup Conclave was held on Saturday, October 29 at Tata Auditorium by the XLRI Entrepreneurship Cell. The event was a huge success as over 450 students from Jharkhand's colleges and schools attended the conclave.

Executives from backgrounds in the entrepreneurial area joined the event at XLRI Jamshedpur. The conclave began with a speech by Gaurav Anand, the founder of Swachhata Pukare Foundation, after the opening remarks by Dean of Academics, Dr. Sanjay Patro. 

Gaurav Anand described how his organisation had previously worked to clear rivers of water hyacinth, which was then utilised to create durable ethnic clothing for women. 

After the speech, the Founder of Mukti Mission, Rashmi Saha, then gave the attendees some pearls of wisdom that had enabled her to succeed as a businesswoman amid patriarchy.

In addition to the speech, participants were given a tour of the process and a brief about why Bamboo India was created by Yogesh Shinde, of Bamboo India fame and Shark Tank India investment winner. Bamboo India is gradually overtaking plastic toothbrushes in India, producing about 60,000 brushes each day.

The event also included various discussion panels. Rahul Pasari, a current Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) member who is also the Young Indians (Yi) Yuva Chair, spoke to the participants in an effort to foster in them an entrepreneurial attitude. 

Students were also given a lively knowledge-sharing session hosted by Studybuzz founder Saurabh Kothari. The session was hosted to inform students about well-known businesses and their secrets to success.

Last but not least, entrepreneur and ardent investor Prof. Atanu Ghosh of XLRI discusses the benefits of tech companies for small enterprises.
