New Delhi: Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur conducted a two-day Faculty Development Program to educate academics with the abilities required for success in their professions as researchers and educators.

As per XLRI Jamshedpur, the XAMI members of XAT 2023 actively participated in the event. Additionally, management academics from prestigious schools such as LIBA Chennai, SJIM in Bangalore and XIDAS in Jabalpur also attended the program.
Furthermore, the event witnessed participation from the Xavier Institute of Management at the XIM University in Bhubaneswar, XLRI from the Delhi-National Capital Region, St. Xavier's College in Dumka, XIDAS Jabalpur and SXUK Kolkata among others.
Fr. Donald D' Silva SJ, Dean of Administration & Finance greeted the participants on the first day of the event. The program included alumni discussions on their accomplishments and success and how XLRI assisted them in developing.
In his speech, he said, "XAT is not just XLRI; it is all our XAMI members participating. A modest effort by XLRI to fulfil its commitment to achieving excellence in management education, research, and training is the Faculty Development Program”.
He added that we'll have a chance to learn from one another as a part of a brief networking and learning exercise. The inaugural ceremony also featured a film clip discussing the history of XLRI. The audience also experienced the student’s feelings toward their school.
While interacting with the group, Fr. Donald also mentioned that XLRI would shortly celebrate its Platinum Jubilee. He said there is still a long way to go for XLRI, adding that all of the teachers and staff have contributed to helping the school fulfil its purpose.
Addressing the event, the Program Director Prof. Munish Thakur said, “We are going to follow an open approach for our workshop. Institutions are now moving towards research and are establishing a presence in emerging segments of management education.
“Hence, we will be discussing more about the different types of research and designs, writing case studies and some more topics. I wholeheartedly welcome you all to XLRI”, he added.
At XLRI Jamshedpur, Prof. Munish Thakur oversees the Faculty Development Program as its program director. As the director of research and admissions at XLRI, he has almost two decades of expertise and organisational knowledge.
XLRI Jamshedpur Faculty Development Program comprised debates on theory-sensitive research, study design, data analysis, data presentation, paper writing, case writing, and applying various pedagogical strategies in the classroom among other activities.
