New Delhi: XLRI Jamshedpur has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the company Coal India Ltd (CIL) to develop the academia-industry interface and the relationship between the two institutes.
The director of XLRI Jamshedpur, Fr Paul Fernandes and the director (P&IR) Coal India Limited Vinay Ranjan were the signatories to the MoU.
Associate dean - corporate and virtual interactive learning (VIL) program, M Srimannarayana, director of the program, Anita Sarkar, head corporate program, S. K Tiwary and head of the HR department, CIL, R K Dash also attended the event.

XLRI and CIL Collaboration: Corporate Training Program
As part of the MoU, XLRI will offer a customised training program on Human Resource Management to the CIL officers in order to help them hone their leadership and management skills.
Around 500 executives nominated by Coal India’s HR department will be part of this program which will be hosted at the XLRI Jamshedpur campus in different phases. The first cohort of this corporate training programme will commence in April 2022.

Being a thought-leader in HR, XLRI accepts requests from organisations for conducting customised training programs for their executives at different levels and offers unique programs to suit the business and developmental needs of client organisations. as stated by Fernandes.
He also expressed happiness in joining hands with CIL and working together to build a strong academia-industry interface.
XLRI and CIL Collaboration: Skill Development
At the signing ceremony, Ashish K. Pani, dean academic-XLRI stated that exposing employees to relevant and consistent training will help companies improve their performance and increase results in the workspace. He added that the program will help in skill enhancement and drive better results.
