VIT-AP University Inaugurates VIT-AP School of Law

Amaravati: VIT-AP University inaugurated the VIT-AP School of Law in its Amaravati campus on September 10, 2020. 

Hon’ble Justice Sri. Jitendra Kumar Maheswari, Chief Justice of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, virtually inaugurated VIT University’s VIT-AP School of Law (VSL) in the evening hours.

At the virtual inauguration ceremony, Chief Justice JK Maheswari asserted, “To provide holistic legal education and to prepare the global legal professionals it is very important to have new law schools. I appreciate and congratulate the management of VIT-AP University for taking this initiative and to launch a law school at Andhra Pradesh.”

Sri. Justice C Praveen Kumar, Smt. Justice T. Rajani, the Hon’ble Judges of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh participated in the inauguration of Legal Aid Clinic and Moot Court Hall. The Hon’ble judges highlighted the importance of clinical legal education and training to the students of law.

According to them, students need to diligently undertake legal profession and practice in litigation. This will channel more opportunities for the students to excel in the field in present times.

Hon’ble Principal District and Session Judge of Guntur District also participated and inaugurated the Law School Library.

Alongside this, G.V. Selvam, Vice-President, VIT University, as the world is interconnecting, it requires global legal professionals. In line with this fact, VIT-AP School of Law is aimed at preparing students to be global legal professionals. 

The new law school will stand up to the expectation of the students, parents and legal fraternity in India and across the world. 

In the face of a pandemic and emerging technologies, which requires keen legal analysis. He even took the opportunity to congratulate the students who got seats to pursue their legal education.

Speaking at the event, Dr D. Subhakar, Vice-Chancellor, VIT-AP University pointed out all the state of the art facilities available at the university. 

He also highlighted the reputation of the university and its achievements and recognition by the Governments and by the industry. Dr C.L.V Sivakumar, Registrar, VIT-AP University proposed a vote of thanks. 

Students, parents, legal fraternity, lawyers from reputed legal firms, senior advocates of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, Supreme Court, legal academia and university faculty and staff were present in the virtual Inauguration.
