Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has recently announced that a scholarship of Rs 458.66cr has been transferred to 12,17,631 students online as a part of Purv Dasham Dashamottar Chhatravriti Yojana Scholarship Scheme 2021-22.
Under the Uttar Pradesh Government Scholarship program, the transfer of funds to all registered meritorious students on Thursday, December 02, 2021, by the Akhilesh government.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath’s official Twitter post reads: "Online transfer of scholarship of Rs 458.66 crores to 12, 17,631 meritorious students under Purv Dasham Dashamottar Chhatravriti Yojana Scholarship Scheme 2021-22".
“The previous government used to discriminate before providing scholarships to the children. They stopped providing scholarships particularly to the children belonging to SC/ST community" the tweet further reads.
Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh Government offered various scholarship programs to students belonging to reserved categories. The scholarships were provided to over 20 lakh students belonging to minority communities under the guidance of the Yogi government.
As per the record, as of now, the Uttar Pradesh Government claims that the state has provided financial assistance to over 20.16 lakh students of the state in the past four and a half years.
Under the UP State Funded Pre Matric Scholarship 2021, the Minority Welfare Department has distributed an amount of 3,000 INR per year to all registered students in the states. The scholarship program was founded to offer financial assistance to needed students.
Adding to the scholarship programs, the Uttar Pradesh government is also preparing to start the distribution of smartphones and tablets among college students. The initiative was taken after reviewing the ongoing pandemic situation and the use of technology for education.

With this step, the state government aims to provide over 2.5 lakh tablets and 5 lakh smartphones to students. The first distribution of the same will start from the second week of December 2021. For details on the same, visit the government’s official website.
Referring to the initiative, the officials said, "The educational institutions are distributing and disseminating teaching materials, tutorial lectures to the students through online mediums. The facility of data access through internet connectivity can also be availed at affordable rates.”.
“The smartphones/tablets will make the youth residing in the urban and rural areas of the state-educated, trained and self-reliant" the statement further added.
