University of Hyderabad Signs MoU with TCS for Next-Gen Communication & Tech Innovation; Read Details Here

New Delhi: University of Hyderabad (UoH) has partnered up with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for conducting research and innovation on next-gen communications technologies, semiconductor engineering, and heterogeneous computing architectures. 

The MoU was inked by V Rajanna, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Technology Business Unit, TCS and P Sargar Singh, Registrar, UoH. During the event many officials such as Professor B J Rao, the Vice-Chancellor, UoH were also present.

UoH and TCS have entered into a strategic alliance to promote and drive research and innovation around technologies like RF Fronted and antenna design for the next-generation communication technologies as well as semiconductor design for next-generation computing architectures

Lauding the initiative, Professor B J Rao, the VC expressed how UoH Faculty and courses are set to offer an empowering environment for a cutting-edge research partnership. 

“Such partnerships with industry are a crucial component of our endeavors to encourage UoH academicians’ research and innovation initiatives, which will remain anchored to the industry imperatives and play a meaningful role in addressing critical business challenges”, as stated by Professor Rao. 

The newly signed MoU between UoH and TCS primarily aims to enable the seamless exchange of ideas and collaboration between the research teams from both the organisations to develop high-performance, secure, intelligent cognitive and sustainable next-generation technologies.

K Ananth Krishnan, the Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), TCS has explained how this collaboration will help the people. 

“Each new generation of wireless technology offers an increasing opportunity to seamlessly integrate humans and machines. This initiative will explore NextGen communication and computation, accelerate digitalization, and contribute to our customers’ growth and transformation journeys”, as commented by Krishnan. 

According to V Rajanna, this collaboration between these two power institutions will highlight their strategic commitment towards creating and nurturing partner ecosystems for avant-garde research and innovation. The MoU provides an opportunity of collaborating on fundamental research, technology validation and addressing transformational opportunities through the use of the next-gen technologies. 

This way, the researchers will be able to reimagine every known fact of humanity and develop a much better future for society at large. 

Prior to this, owing to the surge in COVID 19 cases and the Omicron variant, UoH has urged all the students living on the campus to vacate their hostels and return to their home. This was to prevent any further spreading of the virus among the university students.
