University of Hyderabad: Online Classes to Resume from Aug 20


The University of Hyderabad (UoH) will retrieve the online classes from August 20, 2020.

Due to the COVID-19 spike in cases and following the worldwide lockdown guidelines, the University of Hyderabad had suspended the classes for all courses on March 15, 2020.

The task force headed by Vinod Paravala, former dean of Sarojini Naidu School of Arts & Communication, examined the health risk involved in conducting physical classes and thus has suggested the university to conduct online classes till the situation normalizes.

The task force will be monitoring the university move till December 31, 2020.

In order to help the deprived students, the University of Hyderabad is offering INR 1,000 per month as a digital grant, to meet their expenses of online classes. UoH VC also announced plans to provide ICT (Information and Communication Technology) infrastructure at the individual faculty level or department wise, for smooth execution of online classes.

This year, over 62,853 applications have been received by UoH for the upcoming academic session, out of which most are for IMSc Sciences (5-year integrated course).
