UGC Clarifies Fake Notice on Offline Exams in Universities; Read Details Here

New Delhi: Recently, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a clarification in relation to a circular claiming that all the universities will be conducting offline examinations. UGC has clarified that the circular, rotating on multiple social media platforms is fake.

On its official Twitter account, UGC has posted a clarification regarding the fake circular. “This public notice is #FAKE! University Grants Commission has NOT issued any such notice”, the tweet said.

As per the fake notice, all colleges and universities are operating while maintaining the COVID-19 protocols so offline examinations can be conducted while maintaining the prescribed physical distance at the home centres.

“So, all the Universities are hereby advised to conduct all the current and future semester examinations in offline mode in their home centres while maintaining COVID19 protocols”, the fake notice further stated.

The notice also falsely advised universities to take proper precautionary measures for the commencement of offline examinations.

On the other hand, the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) resumed their offline classes across disciplines from February 7, 2022. All the academic, teaching and learning activities along with library services have been resumed in the offline mode, in accordance with the COVID protocols, set by the DDMA.
