New Delhi: With the surge in the number of Covid-19 cases across the state, the TN government has planned to conduct the upcoming semester exams for college and university students through the online mode from February 1, 2022.
As per the latest reports, all the Tamil Nadu universities including engineering, arts and science and polytechnic in the state have been instructed to conduct the December Semester Exams 2022 in the online format.

The State government has directed all the higher education institutions to conduct the upcoming semester exams virtually from February 1 to 20, 2022. In a recently held meeting, TamilNadu Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy, announced the decision to conduct the December semester exam 2021 in online format.
He also interacted with the media saying that the Tamil Nadu universities will hold the semester exams online between February 1 to 20, 2022, to avoid any delay in graduating for final year students.

During the same press meet, Dr Ponmudy also informed that while December semester exams 2022 are being conducted online, no decision regarding the final semester exams has been taken, which are scheduled to be held in the months of June – July 2022.
He also added that after analyzing the Covid-19 situation across the state, the exam conducting authorities of the university will try to conduct the final semester exams for university students in offline mode.
Besides notifying the online semester exams for college and university students, the Higher Education Minister, Dr. Ponmudy also instructed the educational institutions to make necessary logistical arrangements for the same.
He directed all universities and colleges to ensure that students do not follow any malpractices and he requested the students to not indulge in any unfair practices during the semester exams.
Earlier, the Tamil Nadu schools and colleges were shut again in view of increasing COVID-19 cases. The state government had instructed all the schools till January 31 to curb the spread of infection.
Alongside, Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian said the state has vaccinated all school students aged between 15-18 years with the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
