UoH: Ten PhD Students from University of Hyderabad Shortlisted for Prime Minister Research Fellowship (PMRF)


The University of Hyderabad has officially released a statement in which it has been notified that ten PhD students from the varsity have been selected for the Prime Minister Research Fellowship (PMRF).

Under the PMRF scheme, all the ten PhD students of University of Hyderabad will receive a starting monthly fellowship of INR 70,000 which will increase to INR 80,000 till the end of the PhD programme. Apart from the monthly fellowship, each student will be eligible to receive INR 2 lakhs as a research grant per year.

Out of the shortlisted students, there are two scholars each from the School of Chemistry and School of Life Sciences and there are three students from the School of Physics and the School of Engineering Sciences & Technology have also been selected. 

Earlier for the PMRF 2020 cycle, the University of Hyderabad was allotted around 18 PMRF fellowships. However, in the current selection, an extra fellowship was granted to the varsity. Now, for the PMRF 2020 cycle, a total of 19 students have been selected.

The Vice-Chancellor and the other authorities of the university heartily congratulated the shortlisted students for the fellowship programme. Further, the Vice-Chancellor of UoH also congratulated the supervisors for preparing the research proposals which were related to solving the environmental, medical, pertinent energy, and agricultural programmes with scientific concepts.
