The worldwide pandemic situation has led all the educational institutions to conduct online classes, one such practice is followed by the Ta Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), one of the most pioneer management institutes of Karnataka.

TAPMI is using multiple online platforms in collaboration with Coursera, an online education and training company. But it wasn't a smooth process to move from the physical classroom to an online platform.
Monitoring students' class participation, group activities, availability of library resources are some of the hurdles faced by the institute. However, with the advancement of technology, it was easy to pick up the thread and reach out to the students in such unprecedented situations.
Programs Offered Through Online Mode of Education
- Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)
- PGDM in Banking and Financial Services
- PGDM in Human Resource Management
- PGDM in Marketing
- TAPMI-Mu Sigma LEAD program
There are a total 1,100 students availing the online learning offered by TAPMI. Before the commencement of online classes, the institute had an online discussion with the students. Besides this, the teachers were also given training on interactive devices to familiarize them with online class handling tools.
Virtual Meeting Platforms used by TAPMI
The institute uses various platforms, as each platform comes up with its own pros and cons. It is decided by the faculty members where they are more comfortable to conduct the meeting. Following are the platforms used:
- WebEx
- Zoom
- Microsoft Teams
The major set back in these virtual classes is the non-availability of the finance lab to the students. However, the institute is compensating this with the digital facilities like Havard case studies and journal subscription.
There are two clusters of courses offered to the students. The first cluster is according to the student's desired job profiles and the second cluster involves technology courses like AI, machine learning, fintech, etc. The students are also free to take up any course of interest.
TAPMI is also well known for innovation like BrandScan and the institute believes in redesigning and conducting these one-to-one interactions even in the pandemic outbreak, using the digital platforms available.
