Candidates seeking admission to the SVNIT Surat PhD Program 2022-23 must fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria. 

• Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Science/Management/Humanities or its Equivalent discipline.
• Master degree candidates who have submitted the Dissertation/Thesis or appeared in the final semester/final year examination are also eligible to apply.
• Candidates must also possess a valid score in GATE, UGC-NET or JRF. 
• In case candidates whose qualifying degree results are not declared, they'll have to submit their final results by September 15/ February 15 for admissions in the Autumn/Spring semesters respectively. 
• Candidate has to submit the proof of submission of the M.Tech Dissertation at the time of the interview.

After the application process, the candidate's selection process to the PhD program will be done on the basis of below mentioned criteria: 

• Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of academic performance and scores obtained in GATE/ UGC-NET/ JRF. 
• All the shortlisted candidates will then have to appear for a written test conducted by the institute. 
• Candidates who qualify for the test will be called for a personal interview and the candidates will be notified of the same on the official website. 
• Candidates' final selection will be made on the basis of performance in academics, and the written test and interview.
