The state government of Andhra Pradesh is facing a Twitter-wide campaign from the state's student community, who will take the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams this year.

While many central boards, including the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations, and other state-affiliated boards, have postponed board exams this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Andhra Pradesh Minister of Education, Adimulapu Suresh, has been quoted as saying that the state government is attempting to salvage the academic years of students who have missed classes.

AP Board's Class 10 final exams are set to begin on May 5, 2021, while the Class 12 board exams are set to begin on June 6, 2021.

In contrast, during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, most other state boards, as well as the CBSE and CISCE, have postponed board exams for the sake of students' health and well-being.

Students have taken to the social media platform Twitter to express their displeasure with the state government's decision.

The COVID-19 pandemic appears to have taken another turn this year, with cases increasing on a regular basis.

Students have taken to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with the Andhra Pradesh government, claiming that while most other states have postponed board exams, the Andhra Pradesh government is unconcerned about students' health and safety.

On the contrary, AP Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh has been quoted as saying that the state government will hold the Board exams in accordance with all COVID-19 protocols.

According to him, the government is attempting to save the academic years of students in Class 10 and Class 12. It should be noted that students from Classes 1 to 9 in the state are being mass promoted without any examinations.

With the number of casualties rising by the day, it is extremely dangerous to hold the exams at this time. While students continue to express their concerns on Twitter, no final decision has been made.

Twitter posts with the hashtag #CancelAPExams2021 are already trending on the platform, with many users demanding that the government postpone the exam in order to protect the students' health and safety.
