Sanjay Dhotre Launches NIOS Diploma Course in Yogic Science on International Yoga Day 2021; Read Full Report Here


June 21, 2021: Minister of State for Education Sanjay Dhotre has launched a Diploma Course developed by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) in Yogic Science on the occasion of International Yoga Day 2021. 

Diploma Course in Yogic Science’s main aim is to help people in the field of Yoga and prepare job providers in the same field instead of job seekers. The two-year diploma course developed by NIOS will include a total of five subjects. 

In the first year of the diploma program, subjects like Yoga Teaching-Training will be taught, while in the second year, five subjects in the field of yoga therapy will be taught to registered students.

Addressing the launch of the Diploma Course in Yogic Science, the Minister of State for Education’s official tweet reads, “Today on the occasion of 7th International Yoga Day, NIOS has Inaugurated the “Diploma Course in Yoga Science”.

“This course is a very important course from the point of view of making the nation healthy through teaching training and connecting the youth with employment” the official tweet further reads. 

Referring to the launch of the NIOS Diploma Course in Yogic Science, Ministry of Education, Mr. Dhotre stated that especially in the times of coronavirus, yoga is very important. The field has helped in creating many employment opportunities for students. 

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has also announced that Yoga will be added as a subject in class 1 to class 10th course curriculum. 

Referring to the same, he further added, "We have included yoga in the school curriculum from this year for Classes 1 to 10 so that children make it a part of their daily lives".
