PEC Signs MOU with Indian Navy to Work on Aircraft Development and Research


New Delhi: Punjab Engineering College (PEC) and the Indian Navy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on October 20, 2022, to partner on aircraft research and development. The pact also aims to strengthen the Indian Navy's self-reliance efforts.

The MoU offers a formal framework for the Indian Navy to communicate with appropriate PEC academic personnel and will foster joint research projects in mutual interest, including sponsoring Indian Navy officers for MTech and Ph.D. degrees.

The agreement has been signed by Tejinder Kumar Jindal, Head of the Aerospace Engineering Department at Punjab Engineering College, and Captain P Vinayagam, Capt (APP) of the Indian Navy, in the presence of senior officers of the Indian Navy, including V Adm Sanjay Mahindru, AVSM, NM, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff, and R Adm Deepak Bansal, VSM, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff.

It is an honour for us to engage with the Indian Navy in these crucial areas of shared interest. According to Tejinder Kumar Jindal, this alliance will produce numerous fascinating research and development results.

Under the terms of the MOU, the fields of the partnership will pertain to Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, including design and teaching techniques with an emphasis on propulsion, material sciences, systems and controls, instrumentation and sensors, etc.
