Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University: Convocation To Be Virtually Attended By PM Modi


Eighth Convocation Ceremony of the Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar is to be celebrated on November 21, 2020, and PM Modi will be joining the celebration virtually.

The PM office said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the convocation ceremony through Video conferencing.

Foundation stones of a 45-MW production plant of the monocrystalline solar photovoltaic panel will also be laid by PM Modi.

At the convocation ceremony of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Modi will also lay the foundation for the Center of Excellence on Water Technology.

According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Modi will inaugurate the following at the university

  • Innovation and Incubation Centre-Technology Business Incubation, 
  • Translational Research Centre
  • Sports Complex 

At the convocation ceremony of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, around 2,600 students would be awarded degrees and diploma certificates.

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) is a private university which was established on April 4, 2007.

PDPU is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

PPDU is the only university in Gujarat granted with graded autonomy by UGC. The University was accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade & CGPA of 3.39 out of 4.0.
