Further, these medical colleges should also fill in details including the total number of rooms in women’s hostels and students accommodated, number of births and deaths.

The commission has instructed the Medical Colleges in India to display the information regarding institutions on their official websites linked to the NMC.

The official NMC statement notifies that the details required to submit is attached in the proforma and that the colleges are advised to upload the details at the earliest before December 17, 2021.

The commission has mandated for all Medical Colleges in India to display the information on the public domain, and the details once entered will not be changed or removed. However, they can edit or update the important information.

The new rules set up by NMC to obtain a permanent doctor’s license in India after studying abroad have disappointed the foreign medical association of India (FMAI).

According to the reports, the new rules claim that students intending to study abroad in order to pursue medical education will prevent middle-class aspirants from becoming doctors.

Meanwhile, the state government of Tamil Nadu has announced plans to start 17 new medical colleges across the state with an intake of 2,350 students for the MBBS programme.

With the addition of new medical colleges, there'll be a total of 69 medical colleges, which will lead Tamil Nadu to have the highest number of medical institutions in the country.
