New Delhi: NITTR Chandigarh is currently inviting applications for its QIP (Engg.) PhD program in the disciplines of Civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, and Mechanical engineering.
NITTR-Chandigarh began the admission process on March 1, 2022, and the last date for submission of the online application is on March 31, 2022 (17:00 hrs). The last date for sending in hard copies of applications along with supporting documents is April 11, 2022.
The admission process begins one year in advance. This means that candidates who apply for admissions for PhD program during the year 2022-23, begin their 60 days contact period in the academic year 2022-23 and join as full-time students in the academic year 2023-24.
NITTTR Chandigarh PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following criteria before applying -
- Candidates must have a minimum of three years of teaching experience as full time regular/permanent teachers of AICTE approved degree level engineering courses as of September 30, 2021.
- The age of the candidates should be 35 years or below on January 1, 2021
- Teachers of the Minor QIP Centres are eligible to apply to Major QIP Centres.
Other than this, applicants must also satisfy the eligibility criteria of the individual department or institution where they are seeking admission.
NITTTR Chandigarh PhD Admission 2022: Application procedure
For admission in the year 2022-23, IIT Kharagpur is the principal coordinating institute. Candidates need to visit the online portal hosted by IIT Kharagpur to start the admission process. The steps are as follows -
Step 1: Visit the online admissions portal of IIT Kharagpur (www.cep.iitkgp.ac.in).
Step 2: Create a login ID and password to access the online application form.
Step 3: Upload photograph, signature, and all previous academic certificates and grade reports under each field.
Step 4: Verify all the information and check all the information during the ‘final view’ of the application. If needed corrections can be made at this stage. Once the Final Submit button is clicked, candidates will not be allowed to modify the contents of the application.
Step 5: Pay the application fee after submission (Rs 1000/- for general candidates and Rs 500 for SC/ST/PwD/ Female Candidate.
Supporting documents required with the application includes age proof certificate, Certificates of the Qualifying Examination (Bachelor and Master) and other Degrees, mark sheets of all qualifying examinations, teaching experience, industrial/research experience certificates, all research qualifications, any other academic qualifications, certificates.
Candidates must also send a printout of the application to the Principal Coordinator, Associate Dean, Outreach (CE&T/IoE), IIT Kharagpur.
Candidates will be first shortlisted by the office of the Principal Coordinator QIP, then finally at the Department/Institute concerned. Interview letters will be sent to the short-listed candidates by the Department/Institute concerned.
Online interviews will be conducted by the departments of the individual institutions where the candidate is seeking admission. Final selections will be made by the National QIP Coordination Committee (NQCC) based on the recommendations of various Institutions.
