NIT Trichy Signs MoU with BRIDGE Bharat Council to Create New Defence and Civil Products


New Delhi: NIT Trichy has collaborated with BRIDGE Bharat Council by signing an MoU. The partnership is held to encourage innovation, research, and entrepreneurship in Thanjavur. Efforts are being made to improve industry-academia engagement in the development of defence and civic products.

G Aghila, NIT Trichy Director, and Deepa Jeyakumar, Co-Founder, BRIDGE Bharat Council for Promotion of Innovation, Research, and Entrepreneurship, signed the MoU earlier this week.

According to an official statement made by the institute, the MoU will give faculty members and students the opportunity to obtain hands-on experience in the Defense and Civil sectors.

Professor Aghila stated that the relationship between the institute and BRIDGE Bharat Council will also assist students and faculty in applying for numerous defence-funded initiatives.

According to the official press release, research on issues related to Defence and Civil related (Make in India) projects, student internships, innovations to design/fabricate prototypes, sharing of laboratory facilities, workshops/guest lectures, joint research and development projects, and joint publication of research papers will be encouraged under this collaboration.

This MoU is effective for three years. According to the announcement, the initiatives under this partnership will serve to bridge the gap between academic achievement and business requirements.

NIT Trichy is a well-established centre for steel-related enterprises and has recently started an online postgraduate degree programme in Steel Technology. This course is designed to provide young professionals in the field with better exposure.
