New Delhi: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Trichy's teaching club, IGNITTE is offering a crash course to class 12th students with the aim to prepare government school students for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and Advanced 2023.
As per NIT Trichy, the crash course was offered to Class 12 students from Trichy and Tirunelveli districts between December 26, 2022, and January 12, 2023. The preparation session was attended by 20 students from Tirunelveli and 16 students from Trichy.
IGNITTE is a team of 49 students at NIT Trichy who offer free assistance to students in passing competitive exams. It has assisted students in being placed in top colleges. The teaching club aims to prepare students to secure admission to NITs and leading IITs in India.
Under this initiative, the lessons to prepare students for JEE Main 2023 and JEE Advanced 2023 were held from 9 am to 6 pm at Orion, NIT Trichy. There were also dorms available for the students to stay in at the institute.
The students were greeted by the Director of NIT Trichy, G. Aghila, who encouraged them to put their all towards passing the JEE and wished them luck in their future endeavours. The students were also inspired by N Kumaresan, dean of faculty welfare, and R Karvembu, dean of students welfare.
The IGNITTE club members and faculty advisor R Manjula were acknowledged for their aid and support by the administration. The programme was introduced by NIT Trichy in 2016. So far, a total of 150 students have had the opportunity to receive training at the institute.
Out of the four students who passed both JEE exams, one was admitted to an IIT, two to an NIT, and the fourth cleared the NEET examination. Other students have been placed in prestigious engineering schools like Anna University, according to the professors.
