NIT Kurukshetra, UNESCO MGIEP To Offer SEEK Online Course 2022; Read Details Here


New Delhi: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra has collaborated with UNESCO MGIEP to offer SEEK online courses to interested candidates. 

Under the collaboration between UNESCO MGIEP and NIT Kurukshetra, the institute will offer a fully digitalized, self-paced 40 hours SEEK program on valuable interpersonal skills to students of the institute. 

This NIT Kurukshetra Program will aim to empower the youth and offer them the opportunity to learn various soft skills through the SEEK (Self-directed Emotional Learning for Empathy and Kindness) course. 

As of now, NIT-K is the first institute among all NITs to offer a SEEK program to its students and faculty members. With its partnership with UNESCO MGIEP, the institute aspires to offer the skill learning program to over 6000 students.

Through this collaboration, NIT Kurukshetra is invited to join the vast SEEK online community of learners. The community will offer students with various learning facilities and an opportunity to interact with their fellow learners and SEEK facilitators.

While talking about the initiative, Prof BV Ramana Reddy, Director NIT Kurukshetra stated that under this program, students will inculcate skills such as empathy, mindfulness, compassion, critical and cognitive skills among others.

The science-based course is specially designed by experienced industry experts in the English language. The course is endorsed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. 

As per NIT, the courses will be taught in the English language through the latest UNESCO MGIEP’s FramerSpace learning system. More details on the same will be soon made available to students on the official website of the institute. 

The agreement between the parties was signed on Wednesday, March 02, 2022, in the presence of Prof BV Ramana Reddy, Director NIT Kurukshetra, Prof Pankaj Chandna, President NIT Kurukshetra Alumni Association. 

During the event Deans and heads of the institute and Abel Caine, head of the youth team, Archana Chaudhary, executive officer of UNESCO MGIEP as well as NIT Kurukshetra Faculty Members were also present.
