New Delhi: NIT Calicut Placement 2022 first phase has been completed with Rs.67.6 lacs CTC as the highest salary offered to the students of the computer science and engineering department.
According to NIT Calicut, there has been a tremendous hike of 70% in the first phase of placement of 2022 from 2020-2021. The job offers with the highest salary package were 4 in number, all made by Traceable AI, a pioneer in application security.
The average CTC also saw a hike of 2 lacs in 2022. The placement drive will continue till June 2022.

As per the chairperson of the centre for career development, NIT Calicut, Dr Sajith V, the primary fact which helped in securing solid placement was the two-month training program offered to students during the summer vacation by the institute. It was done keeping in mind the market demand for IT/Analytics firms.
Dr Sajith V further added, “ The completely online mode of the recruitment process during the time of the pandemic was successfully leveraged by the institute. Moreover, the renewed thrust towards digitization of the activities by the firms during the pandemic could be one of the reasons for the higher job and internship opportunities for the students”.
In 2020-2021 the number of students who got placements was around 568 with the highest CTC of around INR 43 lacs per annum and the average CTC of INR 11 lacs per annum. The minimum CTC offered this was INR 3 lacs per annum.
In 2022 145 recruiters visited NIT Calicut for a recruitment drive which was 133 in 2020-21. Students of undergraduate degree courses got more placements than postgraduate students. The number of internships offered has also increased in 2022. Earlier it was around 151 in 2020-21, this year it was 186.
NIT-Calicut offers around 8+ courses to students with different specializations. The selection is based on the marks scored in the entrance exam of respected courses.
