New Delhi: Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) has recently postponed the upcoming medical examination for all university students to February 14, 2022. The exam has been delayed due to the outburst of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
Earlier, the varsity was preparing to conduct the examination for medical students from January 17, 2022. However, in view of the pandemic, the exam has now been delayed for a month for all registered students.
MUHS took the final decision on postponing the university exam in view of the increasing cases of the Covid-19 pandemic and preventing the high prevalence of the Omicron virus in the state.
Following the changes in schedule, the examinations of all the MUHS faculties of the graduate courses, which were earlier scheduled to be held from January 31, will now commence from February 28, 2022.
The university will soon release the complete MUHS Schedule 2022 for the same for students and faculty members. Those who have registered for the examination are advised to keep a tab on the university website for the latest exam updates.
The final decision to postpone the examination for MUHS, Nashik UG, PG Course students was made in a meeting with Amit Vilasrao Deshmukh. The meeting was held in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Dr. Madhuri Kanitkar.
Director Dr. Ajay Chandanwale, Registrar, Dr. Kalidas Chavan, Controller of Examinations Ajit Pathak, Secretary Department of Medical Education, Saurabh Vijay, Commissioner of Medical Education, Virendra Singh, and Director Dr. Dilip Mhaisekar was also present at the meeting.
As of Sunday, January 09, 2022, the Maharashtra state has recorded a207 new cases of the new covid-19 variant, Omicron. Sangli has reported 57 Omicron cases, while Mumbai recorded 40, Pune 22, Nagpur 21, Pimpri Chinchwad-15, Thane city-12, and Kolhapur recorded 8 cases.
In addition, the state recorded a few Covid-19 positive cases in Amravati, Osmanabad, Buldhana, Akola, Gondia, Nandurbar, Satara, and Gadchiroli. Following the report, the state has decided to take strict actions to prevent further increase of cases in the state.
In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, Uttar Pradesh has also closed the colleges and universities for all students till January 16, 2021. The classes for students will now resume through online mode. The decision was made to ensure the safety of students.
Maharashtra University of Health Sciences is also expected to start the MUHS Admission 2022 process for the next academic session soon. The detailed schedule for the same will be released on the official website of the university at www.muhs.ac.in.
