Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Internship 2022: Registration Begins, Check Last Date, Application Form, Eligibility Here

New Delhi: The Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has invited applications for its internship program. Candidates who are interested in pursuing MEA internship 2022, can register at internship.mea.gov.in till February 15, 2022. 

The MEA Internship 2022 programme has been launched as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations to commemorate India’s 75th year of independence. The Ministry has notified a total of 75 internships to be offered for the academic year 2022-23 in a single term of three months between April and June. 

According to the MEA Internship 2022 brochure, all shortlisted interns will have to join the Ministry on the same day in April 2022 and each of them will be engaged for a minimum period of 1 month and a maximum period of 3 months.

MEA Internship 2022: Eligibility Criteria 

The MEA Internship 2022 at MEA headquarters is open to all candidates with a graduation degree from a recognized university at the time of the registration. Additionally, students who are currently in their final year of graduation are also eligible to register for MEA internship 2022 if their final year curriculum requires an internship. 

As per the ministry's rules, the candidates should not exceed the age of 25 years as of December 31 of the year of internship.

Inviting all interested candidates for the MEA internship 2022, Arindam Bagchi, MEA Spokesperson, tweeted that the applications for the MEA internships are open for the first edition of the MEA Internships Programme as part of AmritMahotsav.

The MEA Internship Policy 2022 seeks to take foreign policy closer to the people; by bringing in more focus on the ministry of external affairs. It also aims to provide more value to the interns and ensure better gender inclusivity and increase diversity in terms of qualifications, domicile and socio-economic status amongst the cohort of interns engaged by the Ministry.

Each intern will receive an honorarium of INR 10,000 per month to defray basic costs. It should be noted that the cost of one-time to and fro air travel subject to a ceiling of the prevailing economy class air fare between the State capital and Delhi, from the domicile State or from the college / university of the selected candidates will be provided. 

However, the interns will be responsible for their board and lodging in Delhi during the period of their MEA internship 2022

MEA Internship 2022: How to Apply? 

Interested candidates can apply for the MEA Internship 2022 by following the steps mentioned below. 

Step 1: Visit the official website of MEA @internship.mea.gov.in. 

Step 2: On the homepage, go through the internship details such as eligibility, selection. 

Step 3: If you meet the eligibility criteria, proceed to apply by tapping on the menu bar and clicking the register button. 

Step 4: Fill in all the details and submit it accordingly. Later, click on the login button and enter the credentials to get registered for the MEA Internship 2022. 

MEA Internship 2022: Selection Process 

Candidates registering for MEA Internship 2022 will be selected through online mode, at internship.mea.gov.in with the ministry managing applications, scrutiny, selection, allocation of division, notification, extension and certification on a dedicated internship portal. 

Each candidate is required to register on the internship portal to obtain access to the credentials in order to participate in the selection process, which will consist of two stages viz. Preliminary Screening and Personal Interview.

The candidate's selection for the MEA Internship 2022 will be strictly subject to essential security clearances. The Ministry has the right to terminate the engagement of an intern at any point in time as it deems fit, without giving any valid reason. 

However, if an intern wishes to terminate the internship programme, they can give prior notice of one week to the Ministry.
