IIM Admission: Criteria and Selection Process
With the COVID-19 situation affecting the entire country, the selection rounds for IIM admission 2022 are being held online, and many IIMs have limited themselves to virtual PI.
The admissions procedure at IIM is divided into 3 steps. The three stages of IIM admission are described below:
- Stage 1: Candidates are shortlisted based on their CAT exam scores.
Once the CAT results are released, candidates are invited to apply for the WAT/GD-PI phase on each IIM's official website.
- Stage 2: Screening of Candidates for WAT/GD-PI.
Candidates who applied for WAT/GD-PI are shortlisted based on their CAT score and academic record, and interview letters are provided to those who are chosen.
- Stage 3: Composite Score Calculation and Final Selection
The composite score of each candidate is determined on the basis of several characteristics in the third stage to finalise his/her selection.
- The last round of the IIM admissions process entails evaluating a candidate against a set of criteria and determining his or her composite score.
