Maharashtra HSC exams 2021: Class 12 State Board Exams Cancelled Amidst Surge in Covid-19: Read Full Report


In view of the Covid-19 circumstances across Maharashtra, the state government has officially decided to cancel the class 12th board exams 2021, said Vijay Wadettiwar on Thursday. However, the Maharashtra government has not yet finalized any decision regarding the results and evaluation criteria. 

Following the footsteps of the central government, several states across the country have already cancelled the Class 12th board exams 2021 owing to the second wave of the pandemic covid-19 situation. 

Maharashtra Education Minister, Varsha Gaikwad said yesterday, that the students' health remains the top priority for the Maharashtra government and a proposal regarding the Maharashtra class 12th board exams 2021 was sent to the disaster management authority. 

Earlier, in April 2021, the Maharashtra government cancelled the class 10th board exams 2021 and also released the evaluation criteria for the same. The state government notified the class 10th students that everyone who were to appear for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams will be promoted and evaluation will be done based on their performance in the internal assessment for this academic year and that of class 9th. 

Gaikwad stated that the results for the class 10th students will be out by the end of June 2021. Meanwhile, Several States like Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand have cancelled the class 12th board exams 2021. 

Other states started cancelling Class 12 Board Exams after CBSE made the move by Canceling CBSE Class 12 Board Exams 2021.
