JNU Convocation 2021: University to host 5th Convocation Virtually on September 30; Read Details Here


As per latest updates, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will be hosting its 5th convocation in virtual mode on September 30, 2021, live and exclusive from 2:30 pm. Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan will be the chief guest at the annual convocation, scheduled to be held online for those Ph.D students who completed their degrees between September 15 and October 16, 2021.

Over 470 students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will be awarded their PhD degrees at the event. Student names will be announced during the online ceremony and they will be able to collect the certificates from the University later. Recently, JNU VC M.Jagadesh Kumar took to his official Twitter handle, to announce the event, that reads:

All PhD students who have successfully defended their viva voce between September 15 and October 16, 2021, will be bestowed degrees at the event.

JNU Convocation 2021 will observe Vice-Chancellor Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar curtain-raising with a welcome note and a presentation on academic reports of the university. 

Union Education Minister Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan will address the event as the Chief Guest. Dr Viajay Kumar Saraswat, JNU Chancellor is also listed to address the JNU Convocation 2021. Academic report will be presented by JNU Vice-Chancellor Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar and vote of thanks by Prof. Ravikesh, JNU Registrar.

JNU Convocation 2021: Registration Details

For the JNU Convocation 2021, graduates can get registered through the official JNU webpage jnu.ac.in. Registration fees of INR 800 should be paid online. 

As the event is slated to be held online and streamed through a popular social media platform, Facebook, graduates will be mandatorily required to complete their registration for participation. 

The Facebook live streaming will begin at 2:30 pm. The convocation can be viewed at the JNU's Facebook page link: https://facebook.com/officialjnu.

Earlier, the university reopened in a phased manner on 27th September for PhD research scholars, PhD (PWD) and 9B students. They can submit their papers by December 31, this year.
