JNU Academic Council Approves Exit Option for Dual Degree Engineering Programs; Check Details Here


New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru University, JNU's Academic Council has approved the exit options for its dual-degree program offered under its School of Engineering from the batch of 2018-19 onwards. This decision was taken during the 16th meeting of the council members.

As per JNU, the students of the university who have completed their dual degree programs such as B.Tech, MTech, or MS degree can now avail of the exit option. This initiative is offered to eligible students under the National Education Policy 2020.

Informing about this decision, the official notice reads, "Acting in the spirit of the NEP 2020, the Academic Council in its 160(A) has approved to offer exit option to the students of dual degree (four-year B.Tech and one-year M.Tech/MS) program in the School of Engineering admitted from 2018-2019 batch onward".

JNU is also preparing to launch courses in line with NEP 2020 to introduce students to multiple entries and exit options. Under these programs, participants will have the option to leave their course in between and receive the certificate for the same based on their academic credits. 

As of now, the university offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate courses in various languages. Admission to UG and PG courses is done on the basis of marks secured by applicants in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).

Some of the in-demand courses of the institute are B.Tech, M.A, MCA, MPH, M.Tech, and MBA. To apply for JNU Admission 2022, candidates are required to submit their online applications on the official website of the university at jnu.ac.in.
