The Joint Entrance Screening Test, JEST is a national level entrance test recognized by SERB, is conducted every year for the candidates seeking admission into Ph.D/ Integrated Ph.D programme in Physics or Theoretical Computer Science or Computational Biology or Neuroscience in one of its participating institutes. 

The application form for the JEST 2022 exam has been released today at the official website @jest.org.in. Interested candidates can fill up the online application of JEST 2022 till January 18, 2022 and they will have to appear for the JEST 2022 exam, which will be conducted on March 13, 2022.

JEST 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission for the M.Sc, Ph.D, and Integrated / M.Sc / M.Tech. Ph.D programs in the participating institutes can go through the following eligibility criteria before applying for JEST 2022. It should be noted that there's no age limit for the JEST 2022 exam.

Candidates must have passed M.Sc (Physics) from any recognized institute

Ph.D in Theoretical Computer Science at IMSc

Candidates must have passed M.Tech/ M.E/ MCA/ M.Sc in science with good mathematical skill and interest in biological problems

Ph D in Neuroscience at NBRC



 

Candidates must hold a M.Sc (Physics/ Mathematics), B.E/ B.Tech/ M.C.A degree in Computer Science

Ph D in Computational Biology at IMSc

Candidates must have passed M.Sc./ M.E. / M.Tech. / MCA degree in any engineering or science discipline, with good mathematical skills and strong interest in biological problems 

Integrated M.Sc. / M.Tech – Ph.D Programme (Physics)

Candidates must have passed the following degrees, 

 
  • B. Sc. (Physics / Mathematics) will be considered at SNBNCBS 
  • B. Sc. (Physics) will be considered at IMSc 
  • B.Sc. (Physics / Mathematics) / B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical / Instrumentation / Engineering Physics / Electronics and Communications / Computer Science and Engineering / Optics and Photonics will be considered in IIA
  • B.Sc (Physics) or B.E./B. Tech in Engineering Physics , with a minimum of first class marks, will be considered at NISER 
  • B.Sc. (Physics) will be considered at IISER-Pune, ICTS-TIFR, NCRA-TIFR, and TIFR-TCIS
  • B. Sc. (Physics / Mathematics) / B.E. / B.Tec. will be considered for Integrated M.Sc – PhD at Bose Institute
  • B. Sc. (Physics / Mathematics/ Computer Science/Electronics) / B.E. / B.Tech. will be considered for Integrated M.Sc – PhD at Bose Institute 

Integrated Ph.D Programme in Theoretical Computer Science at IMSc




 

Candidates must hold a B.Sc./ B.E./ B.Tech./ M.C.A. in Computer Science or related disciplines. They should be interested in the mathematical aspects of computer science 

Integrated M.Tech – Ph.D. Programme at IIA

Candidates must have passed M.Sc. (Physics / Applied Physics) / Post-B.Sc. (Hons) in Optics and Optoelectronics / Radio Physics and Electronics

Candidates must have passed B. Sc. (Physics and Mathematics) or B.E. / B. Tech. in any branch of engineering, with at least 55% marks

JEST 2022: How to Apply? 

The JEST 2022 Application form is available online. Candidates can check the respective eligibility criteria and apply online by following the steps below. 

Step 1: Visit the official JEST website @jest.org.in 

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the “Get an Account” link and register yourself 

Step 3: Now, Login to the JEST homepage with your username (your email-id) and password 

Step 4: Fill in the application form, upload the necessary documents and photographs 

Step 5: Check the form thoroughly and submit the application form by paying the desired application fee 

Post the successful registration, candidates will receive emails containing a unique submission number and payment details.

Candidates who are successfully registering for the JEST 2022 exam can download the JEST Admit Card 2022 from the JEST website @jest.org.in, by using their login credentials. Candidates must strictly carry the JEST 2022 admit card to the exam hall on the exam day.
