The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is offering a 12-day free online course on Biodiversity Conservation. The course is offered along with the Dehradun-based Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), the ISRO centre for Remote Sensing and Geo-informatics.
Interested candidates can go through the eligibility criteria and register online for the IIRS Dehradun's free online course on ‘Geoinformatics for Biodiversity Conservation Planning’, till today, on December 5, 2021.
IIRS will conduct its free online course from December 6 to 17, 2021, and the expert IIRS faculty will deliver the classes. Upon the successful completion of the online course, participants will receive a certificate, only if they've maintained a regular 70% attendance.

The online course on Biodiversity Conservation is most suitable for professionals from Central and State Government agencies, Private Organisations, NGOs, students and researchers interested in Ecological Studies.
According to the IIRS brochure, the participants attending the online sessions through the IIRS Youtube channel will have to mark their attendance through offline sessions that will be available for 24 hours.
With the help of the online course on ‘Geoinformatics for Biodiversity Conservation Planning’ course, the participants will get an insight about the 3D characterization of forest biodiversity, Applications of Geographic information systems (GIS) in biodiversity conservation planning, Cloud computing for forest monitoring among similar other things.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the ‘Edusat’ under ‘IIRS Outreach programme’ and click on the ‘Distance Learning’ tab
Step 3: Now, click on the ‘Online Registration Form’ of ‘Geoinformatics for Biodiversity Conservation Planning course
Step 4: Fill the registration form by entering all the requisite information and ‘Preview’ it again
Step 5: Finally, click on the ‘Submit’ button and take a printout for future reference
