IIT Roorkee's iHUB DivyaSampark Inaugurates 2nd Incubation Centre in Greater Noida


New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee's iHUB DivyaSampark has inaugurated its second incubation and innovation facility at IITR's Greater Noida extension on December 9, 2022.

As per IIT Roorkee, the main focus of the newly inaugurated iHUB DivyaSampark will be on deep-tech and emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), robotics, drones, the internet of things (IoT), blockchain, and smart gadgets among others.

In keeping with India's Atmanirbhar goal, the institution intends to encourage prospective entrepreneurs in developing technology. In the past year, the centres have helped 16 businesses with finance of Rs 8 crore and have plans to support 30 startups with a total commitment of Rs 15 crore.

College students in the NCR region are currently receiving deep technology instruction from iHub and over 300 students have received the training so far. The National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NMiCPS) mission led to the establishment of iHUB DivyaSampark.

The development of iHub Divyasampark as a not-for-profit business was a joint effort by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and IIT Roorkee. Smart cities, digital health, and industry 4.0 are the three key focus areas of iHub divyasmapark.

At the event opening, KK Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee stated that over the next ten years, startups in particular deep tech startups will be a key part of India's growth story. Being a top technical institute, IIT Roorkee is totally committed to supporting India's innovation ecosystem.

IIT Roorkee's iHub Divyasamapark technology centre is supporting several entrepreneurs in deep technologies, and we have an aggressive goal to support many more businesses over the next two years. It is encouraging to see that iHub is available in the NCR region to promote entrepreneurs and businesses.

Prof. Pant added that iHUB DivyaSampark has helped 16 firms with a total investment commitment of $8 million over the past 12 months and has plans to support 30 additional startups with a total funding commitment of $15 million over the following 12 months.

iHub Divyasampark, CEO, Manish Anand said: "Greater Noida center was established with a mission to support innovators, especially from tier 2 tier colleges. iHub Divyasmapak efforts have started showing results where two startups have been listed as the 30 most promising deep-tech startups of 2022 by your story at its annual event TechSparks".

"iHub is soon going to start in a startup accelerator program to support startups that are beyond the seed fund stage. iHub is also providing training to students of nearby colleges in the NCR region in deep technologies and under that program already 300 students have been trained so far", he added.
