New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee is preparing to organise its 175th year of foundation day on November 25, 2022. Om Birla, Speaker of Lok Sabha will attend the event as a chief guest.
IIT Roorkeewill assemble its faculty, staff, alumni, and students for this occasion. A Kavi Sammelan and startup expo, where about 50 start-ups will display their products or technologies in robotics, artificial intelligence, healthcare, and electric vehicles among others will be the event's main attractions.
As per the officials, Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Vice Chairman of Bharti Enterprises will attend the event as the honorary guest along with Om Birla, and Vineet Pandey, Chairperson and Secretary of the Postal Service Board.
In honour of the 175th anniversary of the founding of IIT Roorkee, Vineet Pandey will unveil a commemorative stamp brought by the Post Department. A coffee table book about the foundation day commemoration event will also be released, along with a commemorative coin for INR 175.
Additionally, a drone presentation of the journey of IIT Roorkee from the skies, which will be visible from every home in and surrounding Roorkee city will conclude the celebration.
From November 25, 2021 to November 25, 2022, IIT Roorkee is hosting a year-long celebration. On November 24, 2022, BVR Mohan Reddy, Chairman of BOG IIT Roorkee will host a fireside talk event.
In addition to this, the institute has recently organised its 17th quadrennial symposium on earthquake engineering, which brought together specialists from November 14 to November 17, 2022 on the campus ground.
In other news, IIT Roorkee has collaborated with Simplilearn to to launch a joint program on HR Analytics: Unlocking Human Capital. The course curriculum of this course will be created by the faculty members of the institute.
Informing about the initiative, the officials stated that applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in any field in order to be considered for this program. Interested candidates and working professional with more than six years of experience who wants to use analytics to make business decisions.
