New Delhi: On behalf of the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology, Prof. Shishir Sinha of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee has received the Digital India 2022 Silver Icon Award (CIPET).
In the category of "Best web and mobile projects conforming with GIGW and Accessibility Guidelines," Prof. Shishir Sinha of IIT Roorkee was given the prize by the President of India Droupadi Murmuji. The presentation took place on January 7, 2023.
Prof. Shishir Sinha is one of India's top academicians and the Director General of CIPET (Dept of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India). He focuses on significant national technologies including recycling waste polymer to create products with value-added.
Talking on this occasion, he said “CIPET being a 54-year-old organisation started digitising its activities in a phased manner with the support and guidance of DCPC. This initiative facilitates the students, customers, Industry and all the stakeholders to know updated information on the STAR activities that are being carried out by CIPET,”
"This recognises the work done by the CIPET Team under the direction of Prof. Sinha," Prof. K. K. Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee, said in expressing his congratulations to Prof. Sinha. The Digital India Awards 2022 aims to offer a chance to highlight digital activities. These prizes inspire government agencies of all sizes to create cutting-edge digital solutions.
