IIT Roorkee PhD Admission 2022 Open; Last Date to Apply is October 18

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has begun the application process for the full-time and part-time PhD programme for the spring semester 2022-23. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, @iitr.ac.in.

IIT Roorkee offers PhD programs in Science, Engineering & Technology, Management Studies, and Architecture & Planning. Candidates seeking admission to the PhD programme can submit their applications till October 18, 2022. 

Admission to the part-time and full-time Ph.D. programs will be based on the valid scores in GATE/ JRF/ UGC NET/ GPAT exams, followed by Personal Interview.

Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programme shall be classified under any one of the following categories which will be decided and recommended by DRC/CRC.

IIT Roorkee PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates intending to enroll for admission to the PhD programme will have to meet the requisite eligibility criteria. 

• Candidates must hold a master’s degree with minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.0 on a 10 point scale, or 60% marks for the General, GEN-EWS and OBC category. 

• Candidates must have a Valid GATE/ JRF/GPAT/UGC NET score
• Candidates must have passed Bachelors or Masters from IITs with a CGPA 8.0 and above on 10 point scale, are exempted from the requirement of GATE / GPAT / JRF /NET.

IIT Roorkee PhD Admission 2022: Selection Process

• Candidate's selection to the PhD programme will be based on the performance in the qualifying entrance exam. 
• The shortlisted candidates will then be called for an interview.
• Final Admission will be offered based upon merit and PI.

Step 1: Visit the official application portal of IIT Roorkee @https://www.iitr.ac.in/

Step 2: Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.

Step 3: Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.

Step 4: Pay the application fee and submit the Application form. 

Step 5: Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.
